Talking Points for the 2010 Election Cycle

The Repubs are in control of the debate because their perspectives are the prevailing ideals in the MSM.

I believe we should be using & finding intellectual ways to control the debate instead responding to questions that the Repugs are creating to give the false impression that the Obama administration is doing something is wrong.

If we use all our media outlets control the debate with these talking points, I guarantee you our perspectives will prevail over the Tea Party protesters talking points.

Political Chess: Sacrificing Pieces (Blue Dogs)

Sacrificing pieces is common in a chess game; most players sacrifice pieces for many reasons. For example, some players will sacrifice their queen by doing what I call, "Swapping queens." That is when a player sacrifices his or her queen to remove the other players queen off the board.

Lets say that I am playing an opponent that is extremely good at playing with his or her queen, It would make sense for me to sacrifice my queen by swapping pieces when I believe I can win the game without my valuable piece, & my opponent can't. The same logic is true for chess pieces of lesser value.

Obama White House Doesn't Understand American Interest vs. Corporate Interest

One of the issues that has most irked me about the Obama administration's approach to trying to move the economy forward is a fundamental misunderstanding about U.S. national interests and how corporate behavior works.

The Health Care Thread: Why is Medical Care so Expensive?

Mises Daily by Hans F. Sennholz | Posted on 8/22/2006 12:00:00 AM

Medical expenses are rising faster than the costs of any other service. They are climbing at rates that exceed not only those of inflation and dollar depreciation but even the Federal government itself. In fact, they are consuming an ever larger share of personal and national incomes.

Some 40 years ago American medical spending was estimated at 5 percent of national income; today it is calculated at some 16.5 percent and rising continually. Several reform proposals in Congress would boost the share ever higher.

Hoping for the best, but preparing for the worse

Controlling the debate for me means that we should take away the oppositions strong points by not allowing their perspectives to prevail. That also consist of taking away the high road & leaving the opponent the low road. But, that is not what I am seeing from Democrats. I am seeing the Obama administration make the same mistakes that house & senate Democrats made in the 1990s when they foolishly took on not well thought out bills. The end result was that the nation rallied behind the Republicans Contract With America.

Remember all that change Americans voted for in November? Well, there's been a change in the plans for change.

The detour has come courtesy of a familiar nemesis: DC lobbyists who, this year alone, have watered-down, gutted, or out-and-out killed ambitious plans for reforming Wall Street, energy, and health care.

The Pros & Cons of Alternative Energy

June 25th, 2008 by Alternative Energy Foundation

The world today is powered mostly by oil and other oil-based products.

Most machines and equipments are run and powered by oil. But the finite supply of oil may leave everything to a halt. Therefore, there are efforts to discover other sources of energy. Alternative energy, as they call it, have given the world other options and not just solely dependent on oil.

Here are the popular types of alternative energy available today:

An article in The Hill, describing how profoundly House Democrats will miss the leadership of Rahm Emanuel, recounts this episode, involving the vote by Democratic Rep. Tim Walz of Minnesota in favor of the dreadful Protect America Act in August of last year (h/t Matt Stoller):

Talking Points

The purpose of this thread is to point out what I believe are the Republican Party strategies for regaining power.
