Can Al Gore win the first caucus?

It's just a straw poll, but my Democratic Club is holding an Iowa-style caucus this Wednesday night. Club members will try to convince other club members to support their candidate and a head-count will be taken at the end of the night.

I'd like to develop a succinct message to use with my fellow club members to persuade them to vote for Al Gore. Among other things, I was thinking of reading excerpts from Gore's speeches over the last several years and stating the date he made those statements. This shows that Gore was speaking the truth not just about global warming, but also about the Iraq war and the gross abuses of power by the Administration, and he was doing so before it was a safe and popular thing to do.

What do you think of this strategy? Other ideas?

strategy

Right now he is the only one speaking the truth about the American public needing to wake up (my words) ergo... Assault on Reason - I was struck by the truth of his words and these words are current - I was reassured by them and a blue flame of hope resurged - I discussed this with a loved one and she said his election would be an answer to the world's prayers. I blame the American public for our situation - our society has been asleep for a very long time and Gore cites reasons and ways to wake up. So add his current views to top off your strategy. We only have ourselves to blame for our current place in the world.

Can what?Perhaps he will do better next time.

several suggestions and background material by early wednestday :)

Win First Caucus?

Great Idea! Go with it and report the results back to us...don't forget to mention global warming!

I want to write in Al Gore on my ballot in '08.

I've got an Obama bumper sticker on my car and have been forwarding Hillgrams like a supporter... but Gore's the real thing.

Obama

I, too, have an Senator Obama bumper sticker. I am a strong supporter.

I think Senator Obama and and Vce President Gore are so very close on the issues and positions that matter most to the American people.

And they both listen to the American people.

I hope they can find some way to work together now either on a ticket together or to support critical causes together.

with Al Gore as VP

President Barack Obama will work closely with Al Gore. I hope Obama does consider Al Gore as Vice President and Gore does want to come into the light of the political arena. If not, Obama has plenty of other choices for VP that would help the ticket.

Bottom line is, Obama is the uniter we have all been waiting for. McCain is too old and all we would have to do is bring up the Bush connection and all that has been going on in the last eight years and people will not want to continue another Republican administration.

SOUNDS FAMILIAR

I must agree - remove other stickers if you think AG is the one. You can always put another one on later should things change.

I'm taking a multi-faceted approach - Get Gore stickers anywhere I can. I have a friend w/ an Obama sticker on his prius. I told him that he needs a Gore sticker to put in front of his Obama sticker. He agreed right away, so I'm giving him one tonight. I also just started selectively leaving a Gore '08 sticker on cars with other progressive-type stickers and will hopefully start to see them around town. I gave one to someone who was actually in his car and his remark was "OOHH, Coooool!" Hey, the more the merrier!

All I can say is that if you really support Al Gore, then start announcing it from the rooftops, or bumpers as the case may be. Put Gore stickers everywhere!!!
