How To Use This Site
AlGore.org is an organizing hub for the growing grassroots movement coming together to draft Al Gore for a presidental run (and victory!) in 2008.
You'll find a lot of information here about Al Gore and what he stands for, with more added all the time. Check out the Blog to see what's happening in the Draft Gore community. Once you register for the site, you'll be able to write comments and rate blog posts. You'll also find engaging dialog in the Forum (which also requires registration for participation).
Beyond providing you with useful information, the purpose of this site is to support the over 100 Gore Groups that are building this movement, and to give a platform to Draft Gore activists from across the country and around the world.
Register
To see everything that's here, you first have to register. If you're an anonymous visitor to AlGore.org, you can read quite a bit, but some parts of the site won't be visible – particularly the interactive features meant for members of the site community. Anyone can register, of course. And once you do, you'll notice some pretty neat things.
First of all, you'll see a box in the right column of the page titled "My Account." This is your AlGore.org dashboard. It will quickly link you to the Groups you've joined, your personal blog (every user gets a blog on this site), your public profile, and other cool features.
Join a Gore Group
If you haven't connected with a nearby Gore Group yet, you can easily search for one on the Gore Groups page. There you can scan the list of groups organized by state, search by zip code, or click on the Map tab to get a bird's eye view of Gore Groups popping up all over the place. There are also Issue Groups for you to join, which focus on specific topics that are relevant to the Draft Gore campaign. And Taskforces devoted to the practical work of building a national movement, including a speaker's bureau, a "rapid response team" to deal with mis-information in the media, and a group that's working night and day on this website.

Use your public profile
Once you register, you get a public profile page where you can tell others a little bit about yourself. You don't have to have a public profile, but it's nice if you do. That way, the rest of us can know a little bit about you, and group organizers will find it easier to contact you about things you might find of interest. You also can turn on the site "contact" feature that allows anyone on the site to send you a message – while keeping your email address private.

Volunteer for campaign tasks
Also on your User Account page, you can tell AlGore.org organizers what kinds of things you're available to do to help the campaign. Here's how you do it: Click on the "Edit" tab on your "User Account" page. You'll then see the "Volunteer Info" tab. Click and fill out the (very) short form. The information you provide AlGore.org is private and won't be seen on your public profile page.
Write blog posts
Like we mentioned above, as a registered user you get your own blog to post your own Draft Gore news and views. You can also rate the posts of others by giving them "points." The posts with the most points get onto the "Highest Rated" list in the blog section.
Participate and give feedback!
Everything about this site is meant to encourage the participation of people like you in a campaign that we call care about. Please keep in mind: AlGore.org is a work-in-progress. Let us know what's working and what still needs work in the "Discuss AlGore.org" forum.
