Amherst, MA Draft Gore Group

As is indicated in my blog, I have concluded that Al Gore is the best choice for a progressive Deomocratic candidate with the intelligence, commitment, sincerity, and attractiveness to provide the leadership necessary to get America back on the right track. I will appreciate having those interested to join this group to help achieve this objective.

Quill Book Award Vote

It was suggested on the Sept. 16 conference call for the Steering Committee of America for Gore that supporters may wish to vote to support the Quill Book Award for "The Book of the Year" to Al Gore for his book, "The Assult on Reason", which has been nominated. This would be a fitting additional recognition to add to the enthusiasm for Al becoming a presidential candidate.

I will attach a reference to this award and to the voting page on the web.

Run, Al, Run
How can you lose when you've already won
Way back before all the damage was done

She is the producer of Al Gore's documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth" and offers much inspiring and useful advice to those seeking ways to change the political scene. An Egghead for the Oval Office

An excellend editorial referenced below, "An Egghead for the Oval Office" by Eugene Robinson appeared in the June 1 Washington Post. It very well makes the point that the next president should be one who reads newspapers and books, bones up on history, understands the relationship between enerhy policy at home and U.S.

Dear Vice President Gore,

A Delightful Experience

A good experience on May 2 was participation in an environmental convocation at Amherst Rehional High School. Several hundred students gathered to watch a showing of a portion of Al Gore’s documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth”, followed by a panel discussion in which I perticiparted, along with a radio commentator, an Episcopal priest, a geology professor, and an engineer. The student enthusiasm was refreshing. I brought along a pocket full of Gore buttons whih were eagerly sought, and my supply was soon exhausted.

It refers to the URLs on the web for the groups and gives the YouTube address for Kaplan’s song, “Run, Al, Run”, the lyrics for part of which are published

Run, Al, Run

Chorus: Run, Al, run

How can you lose when you already won

Way back before all the damage was done

Now you’re the number one favorite son

So run, Al, run.

1. I went to the movies and what did I see?

I saw a great big man from Tennessee

To walk the red carpet must be fun

But there’s a time to walk and a time to run. Chorus

2. Lots of good senators think they’ll win
