Be part of the Draft Gore '08 campaign!

hi
Hi,
What all is done at these monthly meetings? I was staying in the vicinity and was interested in the subject of environment. Was curious to know what the intent of these meetings is. My email is asitgoyal@gmail.com
Thanks
A Goyal
At our meetings
We talk about what we can do in the draft Gore effort, discuss what's been done during the last month and events coming up that we should attend to do petitioning, etc. The intent of the meetings is to do whatever we can in the effort to draft Al Gore to run for president.
Al Gore meetings
I would like AlGore to be the president too, but I think we can leave it for him to run for president or not. Instead, we should be channeling our energies in saving the environment. AlGore has stood up as a leader in this effort, and we should be working towards that. If AlGore thinks running for president is the right thing for him to do then he would do it, irrespective of how many supporters we gather on this website.

By trying to convince Gore to run
We are doing something for the environment. The more support he knows he has, the bettter the chance we have that he will decide to run. Of course, we can't force him to run, but we are all working to let him know that if he does decide to run, we will support him with our time and our money.
The groups being formed around the country are not environmental groups per se -- they are groups that support a run by Gore in 2008. If he becomes president, that will automatically help the environment, but that's not the only reason we want him to run -- he is not a one-issue candidate.
If you are looking for a purely environmental group, you might want to contact the Sierra Club.
