"Run, Al, Run" Concert & Rally in Iowa

“RUN, AL, RUN” RALLY & CONCERT IN IOWA

A combination concert and rally will be held in Des Moines, Iowa, on Oct. 21st with the purpose of persuading Al Gore to run for president. A producer has already been lined up and is recruiting talent for the event. Two groups that are well known in Iowa are already booked (The Blue Band [definite] and Home-Grown Tomatoes [highly probable]), and other musicians have been contacted for the event. In addition, prominent public figures and politicians who support a Gore candidacy are being asked to deliver persuasive messages to the audience and the wider world beyond.

An auditorium in Des Moines, Iowa, has been reserved (http://www.hoytsherman.org/). This grand old mansion has been converted into a performing arts center and can seat over 1400 people. To spread the word about the concert, we will use all available channels, including the Internet, posters, billboards, and press releases. There will also be a live webcast of the event (website to be announced).

While ticket sales will provide some of the funds required, we will need additional funds to cover the expenses of an event of this magnitude. We are asking all those who are part of the wider grassroots movement plus all interested individuals to please make a contribution. Having many contributors will add to the authenticity of our message as well as being an absolute necessity to making this event happen. An FEC-registered and -compliant PAC has been created to handle contributions for the event.
