Who wants Hillary Clinton to win? Hillary '08 !!!

IF YOU WANT HILLARY CLINTON TO WIN -- and believe as I do -- if she wins and Obama accepts a VP spot Democrats will win... and if Obama wins the nomination we're looking at Democrat loss #3 ;-(

PLEASE GO TO HER WEBSITE, SIGN-UP & START MAKING CALLS:

http://hillaryclinton.com/

Some people on this forum -- give the impression that "everyone here" wants Obama to be the Democratic candidate. I'm not really sure if that's true, nor what the demographic make-up of people who post here is anyway. My guess is Gore would not be proud of some of the Bullying that takes place and that there are also delightful people that post here. So if you're not for Obama post at your own risk.

If you want Hillary to win she needs people to step-up and speak out. HILLARY is capable and I feel is a better bet to win the Presidential election than Obama, and if Obama was VP, I bet Democrats will finally get back into the white house.

Check out : Obama " Can We Deliver" He's poised that's for sure... but I don't think that's enough to win against what will surely be a blood bath against Republicans as it always is.
http://60minutes.yahoo.com/segment/138/clinton_and_obama

Hillary is smart, and wants to win, so I bet she will choose Obama as a running mate since he is popular and they both are on a roll with their campaigns, but I feel the only Democratic ticket that will win is Clinton/Obama, not Obama/? Nomatter who he chooses as a running mate.

The way some people here will cut others up, it may be intimidating , to HILLARY CLINTON supporters, so let's hear from you if you support Hillary, even if it's just:

HILLARY '08 !!!

Hillary is a bitch... Is that what you think?

The biggest criticisms I've heard over the years is that Hillary is a BITCH or worse a CNT...

A Bitch is a Female Dog and we know what the other word is... don't we?

More than anything these baseless criticisms come from a place of resenting powerful women and not wanting a powerful woman to be powerful.

The best team to win is CLINTON/OBAMA or OBAMA/CLINTON
These Two Democratic Superstars -- United -- can win the Presidency. Together they are AWESOME. McCain has a great chance of winning against either of these two individuals, no matter who their running mates are. As a team of Two Super Star Democrats working together -- McCain is Toast ;-)

Many people feel McCain is a "Liberal Democrat" and he may be "old" but he has that folksy Republican charm Reds like so much. We have two Ivy leaguers, but smart people make good leaders, and these two have totally ramped up campaigns and together will win, and make change happen!

Hillary has more solid experience and Obama is charming and on a roll. If you want Democrats to win the Presidency, you may want to look at the real reasons you don't like Hillary, and get over it.

CLINTON/OBAMA '08
EXPERIENCE & CHANGE

She is not a bitch. She is a liar.

As I said earlier she ridiculously inflates her resume and it is Obama who has more relevant experience.

I compared Obama's and Clinton's Senate record.
But it was not good enough to you.

So here's the same story from someone else:

The Curious Myth of Hillary Clinton's Senate Effectiveness

Frankly, I'm tired of listening to Senator Clinton portray herself as being in the solutions business -- as boasting a nice, fat resume of accomplishments -- while mocking Barack Obama for being a rhetorical empty suit.

...

So Senator Clinton is right when she claims to be the experienced candidate, although it's not the experience she would like us to believe. It's a track record of legislative failure and futility.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/adam-hanft/the-curious-myth-of-hilla_b_876...

Don't tell me Hillary is experienced. Don't tell me she has solved many problems.
Her real resume is on the record and easily available on thomas.loc.gov/, the website of the Library of Congress. And it contradicts her rhetoric.

The reality is that she has been an ineffective legislator , much like she was an ineffective
advocate of universal health care. She doesn't have any significant accomplishment.

LOL

LOL -- Get real your guys ahead -- why make up rubbish? Obama would not be proud, he likes to veil his put downs and deliver them with a smile. I'm not feeling your smile. On the other hand Obama depends on others to make nasty and unfounded attacks on Hillary so he can maintain his image and composure, and still get the job done.

PEACE YABU!

I'm not putting you down so please don't be offended. We're all friends here... Or most of us are sincerely trying to be nice and agreeing to disagree. You really push the Golden Rule... but hey, I'm not offended -- so we're OK. I like and respect you -- and that is no joke ;-)

What rubbish?

LOL -- Get real your guys ahead -- why make up rubbish? Obama would not be proud, he likes to veil his put downs and deliver them with a smile. I'm not feeling your smile.

What the fuck are you talking about? Are you all right?

On the other hand Obama depends on others to make nasty and unfounded attacks on Hillary so he can maintain his image and composure, and still get the job done.

Who are those "others" and what "unfounded attacks" are you talking about?

Back to the actual topic: did you actually compare Hillary's and Obama's Senate record?
Apparently not.

Here's more help:

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/2/20/201332/807/36/458633

The reality is that Hillary does not have more relevant experience than Obama.
Neither does executive experience so all you have is their votes and bills/resolutions they sponsored or co-sponsored. That's it.
It's an easily available record and as that it's not subject of dispute.

Even if you only look at the bills Clinton and Obama wrote and became laws tell me which one is
more substantive and which one helped other people -- as both Bill and Hill advertise her:

Clinton bills that became law (since 2001 Jan )

S.1241
Title: A bill to establish the Kate Mullany National Historic Site in the State of New York, and for other purposes.

S.3613
Title: A bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 2951 New York Highway 43 in Averill Park, New York, as the "Major George Quamo Post Office Building".

Obama bills that became law: (since 2005 Jan)

S.2125
Title: A bill to promote relief, security, and democracy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

If OBAMA is the clear Choice Why Did Gore Not Endorse Him?

Maybe it's because Gore is wise and is not as sure as many of you Obama has the potentiial you all feel is so clear. Maybe it's because Gore has been around for a long time in politics and does not necessarily Believe New is Better. Time will tell...

It's questionable, if Hillary would advance her career to team up with someone who has henchmen do his dirty work. Then when he's called out on his own mistakes, he "graciously" moves-on, and sends a message "how dare Hillary criticize me -- EVERYONE (a bit more than half the Democrats) love me and Love my (Martin Luther King's, JFK, FDR, Reagan's) words".

CLEARLY if Obama loses it will all be Hillary's fault - one way or another. Yeah, RIGHT!

Time will tell...

Why the enmity?

Wayne in WA State's picture

Arty, I understand that you support Hillary. But I don't know why you have all this resentment and anger towards Barack Obama. When you say that Obama has his henchmen carry out his dirty work I don't really know what you're talking about. I think Obama has run a far cleaner and more positive campaign than Senator Clinton. Just yesterday we learned a few very wealthy Clinton supporters are setting up a 527 political committee - The "American Leadership Project" to raise millions of dollars to "contrast and compare" their positions. These groups operate outside campaign finance laws and their purpose is not supposed to be primarily to elect or defeat any candidate. The Swift Boat Veterans who attacked John Kerry are another 527 group.

Hillary Clinton, please don't campaign like a Republican and say anything just to win. It will damage your reputation and tarnish your name for the rest of your career. Think of the future.

Read YABU's posts and muliply by a million and you'll get it...

This is not the first time in history hat crowd mentality went terribly wrong, Wayne.

CLINTON/PATRICK
True leadership for the USA!

Maybe she is

But that's not the point. Everybody agrees that they want change, but then talk about going back to the old familiar faces yet again. I am quite certain that Hillary and Barack are equally capable. That said Obama is quite literally moving the country in a new direction with mere words. Imagine the potential when he gets to do the real work. He has support across all voter types and he is capturing the energy of the young people who are the future. I say if we want real change it's with Obama

Hey Gallwinds ;-)

I hear you... Obama's words sound good, but I'm not nearly as impressed as I was when I first started listening to him, because I hear the same style -- over and over -- and not much substance. As for moving the country, he's on the campaign train and running an impressive campaign, but I haven't seen anything move accept his supporters, and the race is still so close it's anyone's call so he hasn't united the Democratic party. If Florida delegates had been counted Hillary would probably be ahead that's an irony ;-)

As for the same old faces -- Well, Bush won two terms so it's been many years of republican domination of the Presidency. Obama teamed up with Kennedy -- a Huge Boost -- to his support from party insiders. Kennedy is certainly one of the "oldest" continuous faces in DC and he "owns" his seat in MA. How much influence do you think Obama is garnishing from the Kennedy connection when it comes to support? I would guess teaming with KENNEDY was a big influence on Obama access to the "Old Boy" network, and favors will be owed. Not that it's wrong -- but it's not a fresh approach to how the "game" is played.

Obama is talented I won't deny that. He may when all is said and done be just as capable as Hillary ??

Hillary's nomination would be AMAZING CHANGE. She would be the first woman as either President or VP, and I have more confidence in her abilities to become President, because she has done so much solid and good work already. As for her husband Bill, I like the fact that someone like Bill Clinton, who is capable of changing the economy from dismal and in debt to to a surplus. That's a change I would look forward to. So for him to be the First Man... Cool... Big change there. If she's the bitch you may think she is, I doubt she will let him dominate her.

As for working towards world Peace... Sure would be nice to see how a capable woman -- Hillary -- would approach PEACE and not accepting violence as the best solution/economic advantage. I feel a woman may be more likely to think twice about violence. She may have voted for the war, but after 9-11 all Democrats did. I don't fault her for not being the lone holdout on that one, and doubt Obama would have been either. That Barack is younger -- how many years younger ? Younger in itself, doesn't spell better performance to me. I just trust Hillary's performance, and ability to bring real change, more than I trust Obama's compelling words. I'm not saying he can't deliver, I just don't know what he's really going to deliver. Ronald Reagan was a soft spoken talented orator too, many still think he was one of the USA's greatest Presidents, who delivered change for the better, and I just don't get it -- but he sure did mobilize people and support. Go figure.

I am HAPPY that these two Super Candidates made it this far together and HOPE this year we finally get a capable woman President -- which Hillary will surly be. If not I HOPE Obama is smart enough to realize Hillary is the best Choice as VP to win the Presidency for Democrats!!

Obama a Muslim as our President? Where is this headed in the US?

I realize that a person's religion should not be a reason for selecting a candidate for the Presidency.
Though, I do have many concerns about Senator Obama being a Muslim. I find myself to have to rewrite his name...Obama...not Osama! The similiarities are too close that I find it scary.
Having read that as many as 10 or so white males decided to vote for Obama instead of Hilary Clinton for the primaries because come November they would then vote for McCain. As of now I do not know whether this will be possible or not.
When I go to vote on Feb. 19 in the early voting in Texas I will find out.
I am convinced that someone like him cannot earn those huge dollar amounts in a few short days (in the millions) without some sort of a pay out if he becomes President. Lobbyist???
And Ms. Clinton had to loan her campaign 5 million dollars to continue her race and campaign.
Something is not right here, nor does it add up.
Seems to me that former Vice-President Al Gore has to come and rescure our party before it becomes too late.
Either jump in NOW...or ENDORSE Hilary Rodham Clinton. My feeling's are that since Mr. Edwards is out of the race and I would hope that he would endorse Ms. Clinton and former Vice- President Gore would too endorse Ms. Clinton we would be a Party of Unity!
I am afraid that if Obama would be elected he would be totally involved in Africa as his primary issue and not the United States.
As the current government involved with Iraq, Iran and other foreign countries.
Let us be concerned with the United States and it's countrymen...ie..women, etc.
This country was built around Christianity and as it should be...well as I see it and I'm sure as many do too.
I wouldn't want a President who wants to kill himself for XXX amounts of Virgins in the afterlife. SORRY.
Or in 2009, we will see Obama for President and Vice-President: the extinguished Oprah Winfrey.
Thank you for any and all consideration.
Hilary Rodham Clinton for President

Looks Like Obama's Special Interest of Choice is Big Banking...

Hey Black Cell ;-)

As far as I can see this list is Big with Banking and Investment Firms which represents all Big Business and the Stock Market. The biggest winners on Wall Street last year were Oil and Defense --- Hmmmm... Both are advantaged by the war. Big Banks finance the companies who create the weapons of war and Credit Suisse Group???? Who knows where their money comes from -- that's a scary thought -- and where it goes. Well actually... we now know $118,000 of Credit Suisse Group funds is financing Obama's campaign. No one's a Saint in this race.

Don't you wish we were teaming up instead of tearing down the Democrats greatest Super Stars?
I hope that happens one way or another... United We Stand! I appreciate that you agree Black Cell even though we see things from a different perspective. This team is second to none.

Obama teamed up with the Kennedy Dynasty & Move-On

I've lost faith in Move-On for being partisan about this using a vote? Obama down-loaded millions from Move-On yesterday. As for the Kennedy Dynasty... Hmmmm... Change? MA doesn't seem to have term limits and talk about favors. Maybe we'll get a team of two with no Executive Experience like Obama/Shriver-Schwarzenegger -- Now that's a move in the RIGHT direction -- Not.

CLINTON/OBAMA
A Democratic team for REAL CHANGE!!!!

A Democratic team for REAL CHANGE!!!!

OBAMA / CLINTON

live free or die trying!

Black Cell You Are A Visionary -- Just Got the Order Wrong ;-)

CLINTON/OBAMA 08'
Experience & CHANGE !!

OK... That's another perspective towards the same goal...

I like CLINTON/OBAMA better to Win...

Let's use the best strategy to WIN... The DEMOCRATIC SUPER STAR TEAM, who are all geared up can win!

CLINTON/OBAMA '08
United We WIN !!

Obama is not a Muslim, idiot.

He has always been a Christian.

We don't need your crazy smear.

OK... The person that said Obama is is Muslim is wrong ;-)

I see what you are saying YABU... but the way you said it, seems well... wrong ;-) Sorry.

If Obama was a Muslim that would be OK with me, so long as he can do the job.

CLINTON/OBAMA '08
United We Stand !!

Yabu -- Do You think nice people pay much attention to Bully's

Really... Can't you make your points without being so offensive and personal attacks on the other people that post here... which by the way is far fewer than it used to be and far less fun, because you are not nice in your debates. Besides who are you referring too? I'm looking to see if someone claimed Obama is a Muslim and can't find that post.

CLINTON/OBAMA
The team to win in '08!!!!

Dianvillarre@aol.com: Obama a Muslim as our President?

Wow! I am enjoying your tactics Artygreen 4Gore ( Artysmarty pants) :-). Trying to out smart the bully by telling him that no one likes him because he is a bully.

But if you take the bully out of the bully, he would become a pushover and no one really will like him then.

Black Cell - I see that was your post, Sorry! Why not Hillary?

BC -- I'd like to talk to you directly about something else which we discussed a long time ago which I'm moving forward on. I checked your info and don't see your email. Sorry about the error and Thank You!!!!

Would you please contact me? I opened my mailbox here.

As for my error, the way all this formats is a bit confusing. Dianavillare was the one wrong to claim Obama is a Muslim. I don't support invalid claims, That's for sure.

As for the team of CLINTON/OBAMA or OBAMA/CLINTON either way is a power ticket that will win !!!

I feel rather bad criticizing Obama from that regard. However, who exaggerates more; or who misrepresents more; or who is guilty of less invalid claims and promises; is an odd argument. It's all we've got though -- RIGHT now, so we play the game and try to "support and protect" the one we hope will win.

Where I stand -- and the process requires a regular change of position -- which in itself seems OK to me, because being willing and able to CHANGE IS GOOD. The thing is CHANGE as a campaign slogan is smart -- but a plan for change, and to follow that plan is a commitment... otherwise it's just a talking point, and who knows what will really happen. I do feel that Hillary Clinton, and the work she has already done to advance Universal Health Care, paved the way for collective consciousness to accept that as the right thing to do, and as is usually the case, once ther balance tips so that Politicians feel safe to support something -- they follow. So she is someone who has my respect and is capable of real change. As for Bill Clinton balancing the budget and leaving office with a surplus -- I figure Hillary may be able to do that too, better than any. Balancing the budget, when Bill entered office was something "everyone " thought could not be done.

So when I get here and see all the Hillary bashing, I'm iin defense mode, which leads to offense mode, because that's how we do it.

I'm for Peace and working for Peace and feel that a woman -- as capable as Hillary --may be more likely to make that happen. At the same time I think Hillary will not be soft on defense.

Finally, to really come clean -- Given the confidence I have in Hillary to bring change and be a great leader, I feel it's time for a woman President. If that offends anyone, ask yourself how many don't like her, because she's a woman? At least I'm being honest about it.

Black Cell, I was looking for your latest post, and don't have much time, so forgive me if I missed that, but email me ;-) I'm really excited about something and would love your input.

Hi ArtyGreen4Gore

Thanks Dianvillare

Even though we're forced to tear down the competition -- with "facts" in this "war" of politics... No need for personal name calling...

Good Work Dianvillarre, with your fact finding. This is a very close race so for people here to present Obama as the Democratic favorite is simply not a fact.

You gotta read the fine print

I went to the site posted RE: contributions and alas Hillary has over 7000 contributors donating $4,600 or more compared to Obama who has less than 2,000 contributors donating that much. She's crying foul while getting the big bucks. Make of it what you will.

That's why I liken Hillary's style of fighting to repugs

Hypocritical psychobabble...

All we have to do is continue pointing the false info that her team is putting out & she will fall by the waste side.

Obama is no Siant -- He's a Democrat!

Hillary is not playing any dirtier than Obama. Dianaville made a mistake about Obama being Muslim, but her facts about his contributers looks valid. She does not represent Hillary's team anyway. Individuals will often say anything to "defend and stomp" the competition.

I've read so much Hillary bashing here, and conjecture presented as fact. The list of Obama contributers -- BANKS & INVESTMENT COMPANIES is real. All the onces financing and winning $$$$$ big time from the war. So there's "dirty" business is going on all around us -- Obama is no Saint, he's a Democrat!

So If OBAMA says they don't take any money from PAKS & Special Interests and the truth comes out that that isn't the truth. Is the argument, OK, but he takes less than Hillary. Then there is his ploy to get the special interests, to contact their membership for donations and support, so it looks like his base is individuals. Smart but, certainly a manipulation of truth.

Obama is no Saint -- He's a Democrat!

PS: Black Cell ~ Would you email me?. Sorry for not seeing a comment above was yours and not realizing Dianaville was the one wrong about saying Obama was a Muslim. This format is confusing! I tried to email you with, responding to old email, but it no longer links to you. I'm moving forward on that project, and really it was your idea, so it would be so cool if you were involved. Just starting off on the internet but you never know where it will go.

Can anyone email me and tell me if, and how the buddy system works? I know I'm a "big Mouth" but I don't bite (lol) ;-)

Mistakes

Wayne in WA State's picture

I'll just say that people spreading false rumors are generally not "making mistakes". They are attempting to pull off a deliberate smear. No more Swift-Boating!!

Wayne ~ I totally Agree

Never thought you'd hear me say that, huh? ;-)

From what I see false rumors and innuendos are coming from both sides.
Hillary supporters are not the only guilty ones.

Arty, check out the first reply to the main blog above.

Medullan Marauder's picture

Apparently somebody is suffering from some political propaganda about Obama's religion..

Thanks for pointing that out MM ;-)

MM, I respect everyone's opinion here, but strategy to win is more important than holding onto prejudices about a candidate. I know you understand.

CLINTON/OBAMA '08
A Presidential Team Second to None !!

Barack Obama is a Christian

Barack Obama is NOT a Muslim, please read his views on religion.

BARACK OBAMA ON FAITH

Key values in Barack Obama’s public statements on faith and politics

• God is constantly present in our lives, and this presence is a source of hope.

“Hope in the face of difficulty, hope in the face of uncertainty, the audacity of hope: In the end, that is
God's greatest gift to us, the bedrock of this nation, a belief in things not seen, a belief that there are better
days ahead.” – Democratic National Convention Keynote Address.
• Progressives should boldly approach matters of faith and values.
“[I]f we truly hope to speak to people where they're at - to communicate our hopes and values in a way
that's relevant to their own - then as progressives, we cannot abandon the field of religious
discourse...Because when we ignore the debate about what it means to be a good Christian or Muslim or
Jew; when we discuss religion only in the negative sense of where or how it should not be practiced, rather
than in the positive sense of what it tells us about our obligations towards one another...others will fill
the vacuum, those with the most insular views of faith, or those who cynically use religion to justify
partisan ends.” – Call to Renewal Keynote Address
“Our failure as progressives to tap into the moral underpinnings of the nation is not just rhetorical,
though. Our fear of getting “preachy” may also lead us to discount the role that values and culture play
in addressing some of our most urgent social problems.” - The Audacity of Hope.

• As Joshua built on the work of Moses, leaders of today – the ‘Joshua Generation’ – must
build of the foundation of previous generations to move our nation forward.

“The final thing that I think the Moses generation teaches us is to remind ourselves that we do what we do
because God is with us. You know, when Moses was first called to lead people out of the Promised
Land...the Lord said I will be with you. Throw down that rod. Pick it back up. I'll show you what to do.
The same thing happened with the Joshua generation.

Joshua said, you know, I'm scared. I'm not sure that I am up to the challenge. The Lord said to him,
every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon, I have given you. Be strong and have courage, for I
am with you wherever you go. Be strong and have courage. It's a prayer for a journey. A prayer that kept
a woman in her seat when the bus driver told her to get up, a prayer that led nine children through the
doors of that Little Rock school, a prayer that carried our brothers and sisters over a bridge right here in
Selma, Alabama. Be strong and have courage.” -Address to Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church, Selma,
Alabama, on the Anniversary of Bloody Sunday.

• Faith should not be used as a wedge to divide.

“We think of faith as a source of comfort and understanding but find our expressions of faith sowing
division; we believe ourselves to be a tolerant people even as racial, religious, and cultural tensions roil
the landscape. And instead of resolving these tensions or mediating these conflicts, our politics fans
them, exploits them, and drives us further apart.” – The Audacity of Hope.

“Well, I say to them tonight, there's not a liberal America and a conservative America – there's the
United States of America. There's not a black America and white America and Latino America and Asian
America – there's the United States of America. The pundits like to slice-and-dice our country into Red

Paid for by Obama for America

Paid for by Obama for America States and Blue States; Red States for Republicans, Blue States for Democrats. But I've got news for
them, too. We worship an awesome God in the Blue States, and we don't like federal agents poking
around our libraries in the Red States. We coach Little League in the Blue States and have gay friends in
the Red States. There are patriots who opposed the war in Iraq and patriots who supported it. We are one
people, all of us pledging allegiance to the stars and stripes, all of us defending the United States of
America.” – Democratic National Convention Keynote Address.

• The separation of church and state is critical and has caused our democracy and religious
practices to thrive.

“[Conservative leaders] need to understand the critical role that the separation of church and state has
played in preserving not only our democracy, but the robustness of our religious practice. Folks tend to
forget that during our founding, it wasn't the atheists or the civil libertarians who were the most effective
champions of the First Amendment. It was the persecuted minorities, it was Baptists like John Leland...It
was the forbearers of the evangelicals who were the most adamant about not mingling government with
religion, because they did not want state-sponsored religion hindering their ability to practice their
faith...” – Call to Renewal Keynote Address

• We are a nation of many faiths and of those with no faith at all. The religious practices of all
must be respected.

“Given the increasing diversity of America's population, the dangers of sectarianism have never been
greater. Whatever we once were, we are no longer just a Christian nation; we are also a Jewish nation, a
Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers.” - Call to Renewal
Keynote Address

• Faith is a source of action for justice.

“Imagine Lincoln's Second Inaugural Address without reference to "the judgments of the Lord." Or
King's I Have a Dream speech without references to "all of God's children." Their summoning of a higher
truth helped inspire what had seemed impossible, and move the nation to embrace a common destiny.” –
Call to Renewal Keynote Address

“We should never forget that God granted us the power to reason so that we would do His work here on
Earth - so that we would use science to cure disease, and heal the sick, and save lives.” – World AIDS
Day Speech: Race Against Time

“Pastors, friends of mine like Rick Warren and T.D. Jakes, are wielding their enormous influences to
confront AIDS, Third World debt relief, and the genocide in Darfur. Religious thinkers and activists like
our good friend Jim Wallis and Tony Campolo are lifting up the Biblical injunction to help the poor as a
means of mobilizing Christians against budget cuts to social programs and growing inequality...Across
the country, individual churches like my own and your own are sponsoring day care programs, building
senior centers, helping ex-offenders reclaim their lives, and rebuilding our gulf coast in the aftermath of
Hurricane Katrina.” – Call to Renewal Keynote Address

• Government alone cannot solve all of our problems – we have an individual responsibility to
be our brother’s keeper and our sister’s keeper.

“And although government will play a crucial role in bringing about the changes we need, more money
and programs alone will not get us where we need to go. Each of us, in our own lives, will have to accept
responsibility - for instilling an ethic of achievement in our children, for adapting to a more competitive
economy, for strengthening our communities, and sharing some measure of sacrifice. So let us begin. Let
us begin this hard work together. Let us transform this nation.” - Presidential Announcement
Speech

Internet Rumors Are Easy To Find

Wayne in WA State's picture

Hasn't this rumor died out by now? Barack Obama is not and never was a Muslim, he's a Christian. Not that there is anything wrong with being Muslim, but this false rumor has been spread by those wishing to manipulate some people's fears and prejudices. That kind of misinformation shouldn't go unchallenged on this website.

Clinton’s Edge Slips With Whites, Women

The Associated Press

Thu, Feb 14, 2008 (10:03 a.m.)

Hillary Rodham Clinton's crushing losses in Maryland and Virginia highlight an erosion in what had been solid advantages among women, whites and older and working-class voters. While this week's results can be explained by those states' relatively large numbers of blacks and well-educated residents _ who tend to be Barack Obama supporters _ her presidential campaign could be doomed if the trends continue.

Clinton is holding onto some of her supporters who are largely defined by race and often by level of education, such as low-income white workers and older white women, exit polls of voters show. She's been losing other blocs, again stamped by personal characteristics, such as blacks, men and young people both black and white, and better-educated whites.

The latest defeats have slowed the one-time favorite's political momentum at a bad time. With Obama winning eight straight contests and easily outdistancing her in money raising, she must now endure three weeks until primaries in Texas and Ohio that she hopes will resurrect her campaign.

Clinton's losses have also enabled Obama to take a slight lead in their crucial fight for convention delegates. With 2,025 needed to clinch the nomination at the party's Denver gathering in August, Obama has 1,275 delegates to Clinton's 1,220, according to the latest count by The Associated Press.

Before this year's presidential contests began, Obama was running consistently behind his rival in the polls. The Illinois senator was mostly attracting upper-echelon whites, young people and about half of black voters _ resembling the coalitions that sealed defeat for past non-establishment Democratic candidates such as Gary Hart and Bill Bradley.

Things have changed since the voting has started, especially after bitter exchanges during the Clinton-Obama contest in South Carolina highlighted their racial differences and, subsequently, former Sen. John Edwards exited the race.

Now, virtually all blacks support Obama, significant since they make up about a fifth of Democratic voters overall.

And while last year's polls showed Clinton leading among men, Obama now leads her among males by 11 percentage points, according to exit polls of voters in 20 competitive Democratic primaries.

Before Tuesday's voting, the two were even among white males this year. Obama defeated her among that group by 18 percentage points in Virginia _ his first win with white men in a Southern state _ and they divided white men about equally in Maryland. Obama has done especially well with men who are college educated.

Tuesday's voting highlighted the ground Clinton has lost with groups that have been strongholds of her support.

In both Virginia and Maryland, she got the backing of only about four in 10 women and three in 10 men. Obama narrowly edged her among whites in Virginia, while she won among Maryland whites by 10 points.

In each state, she got 45 percent of voters 65 and over, and just over one-third of people earning under $50,000 annually or with high school degrees or less.

At the same time, Obama won huge margins among blacks, young voters, higher-income and better-educated people, leaving Clinton nowhere to turn for support.

She had the misfortune of Democratic primaries in two states in which about one-third of voters were black and about two-thirds of voting whites were college-educated, exit polls showed. Both are unusually high numbers, an all-but inevitable recipe for Obama triumphs.

A closer look shows more about the voters Clinton was losing and keeping, and underscores the importance of race and education in the contest.

While Clinton lost among people making less than $50,000 annually, she got six in 10 votes from whites in both states making that amount. The same was true for people over age 65 and those with no more than high school degrees _ she lost both groups overall, but was backed by about six in 10 whites in those categories.

Nationally, 54 percent of college-educated white men voting in Democratic primaries have supported Obama, compared with 33 percent of those without college degrees. Maryland's figures on Tuesday were virtually identical to that, while in Virginia 62 percent of college-educated white men backed Obama, compared with 48 percent who are not graduates.

The figures from Tuesday's voting came from an exit poll conducted by Edison Media Research and Mitofsky International in 30 precincts each in Maryland and Virginia for the AP and television networks.

Those interviewed included 1,245 Democrats in Virginia and 1,324 in Maryland, with a margin of sampling error for each of plus or minus 4 percentage points. Also, 719 Virginia Republicans and 690 in Maryland were interviewed, with sampling error margins of 5 points for Virginia and 6 points for Maryland. Margins of sampling error for subgroups were larger.

National figures come from earlier exit polls conducted by the two companies.

Hot Debate in this Contest Black Cell... Glad You're Here.

CLINTON/OBAMA '08
A Team that will WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Helloooooo ArtyGreen4Gore

I Totally disagree with you on this one. But, I am enjoying watching you fight for what you believe.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows Barack Obama opening a double-digit lead over Hillary Clinton in the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination. Today’s results show Obama earning support from 49% of Likely Democratic Primary Voters while Clinton attracts 37%. Perhaps the most stunning aspect of the Obama surge is that he now leads 46% to 41% among women. Clinton retains a lead among the narrower subset of white women, but her lead in that vital demographic is down to just three percentage points.
Obama now leads 47% to 44% among white voters and 69% to 10% among African-American voters.

Black Cell... Cool... You know I will listen to you...

Hey... Good to hear from you...I have to go to dinner but I'll get back to you. Happy Valentine's Day everyone.

Just the facts ma'am

Wayne in WA State's picture

Greetings Black Cell!
Hasn't it been fascinating to see this gripping presidential primary tournament. Don't worry y'all, if Barack Obama can manage his campaign this well, the White House is going to be in good hands.

Arty, don't take yabu's comments personally. I don't think it's personal to him, yabu is just a very vigorous debater. He's known more for command of the facts than a gentle bedside manner ;-)

Obama's record

Judge Him by His Laws

By Charles Peters

People who complain that Barack Obama lacks experience must be unaware of his legislative achievements. One reason these accomplishments are unfamiliar is that the media have not devoted enough attention to Obama's bills and the effort required to pass them, ignoring impressive, hard evidence of his character and ability.

And here:

Obama's record in the Illinois senate.

http://www.nytimes.com/imagepages/2007/07/29/us/politics/20070730_OBAMA_...

Compare this to Hillary's thin record in the Senate and you can't say, objectively, that she offers more
substance than he does.

Since you still don't get it here's another poll.

Showing the same pattern.

Hillary would lose to McCain big time. While Obama would win.

Nevada Ras Poll: Obama 50% McCain 38%, McCain 49% Clinton 40%

http://rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_...

Do you care about the real world out there or you prefer living in your rosy Hillaryland?

Even McCain knows you are dead wrong. He wants to run against Hillary not Obama.

I noted yesterday that it's odd McCain would be attacking Obama for lacking specifics, when McCain is far vaguer and more ill-informed than Obama. It's even odder that McCain's campaign is jumping into the question of which Democrat came out with which stimulus plan first. I expected MCain to go after Obama, I just thought it would be on grounds of being a liberal liberal liberal peacenik.

Could the answer be that... McCain's goal is not to hurt Obama in the general election but to hurt him in the primary? Every poll now shows Obama performing better than Clinton against McCain. On average, he does five and a half points better than her, which is a very significant margin.

http://blogs.tnr.com/tnr/blogs/the_plank/archive/2008/02/14/mccain-aidin...

Please show US Polls from Major Networks...

McCains Goal is to win, as is Hillary's as is Obama's

Obama talks a beautiful game but lacks much sustance... besides this is a primary and is not the real election... You bet McCain will attack Obama, every way he can, and again, choosing Obama over Hillary, spells lose #3 to me, and tha's no joke.

OBAMA COZY WITH CORPORATE LOBBYISTS...
http://www.alternet.org/election08/72079/

I'm not up for a pissing match today ;-) or talking about opinion as fact... you have your ideas and want one candidate to win, and I want another... that's how it goes. This difference is I feel Hillary should and would pick Obama as a running mate and win for Democrats. You think Obama will win, and I say, mark my word he'll be loss #3 for Democrats. (Oh and I'm talking about being president not who won the popular vote in 2000) I assume we all wanted Gore, but he wasn't the President and didn't choose to run in '08.

Wouldn't it have been fun if he had and we all agreed on one candidate? ;-)

CLINTON/OBAMA

This is a team that will win -- all debate aside!

I've already posted polls done by major networks

You just don't care.

But here's the link, just in case:

http://www.algore.org/forum/other_08_candidates/democratic_primary_chall...

But you should explain why we should ignore the Rasmussen or Zogby polls while not ignoring CNN or ABC polls.

No matter how you try to spin it based on the best available evidence today Obama is the stronger candidate against McCain because he has more independent support, and indies decide every election.

Alternet is a far left rag much like Counterpunch. They were trashing Gore in 2000, enough said.
But it's really funny to hear a Hillary supporter accusing Obama of being cozy with lobbyists.

"A lot of these lobbyists, whether you like it or not, represent real Americans. They actually do. They represent nurses, they represent social workers -- yes, they represent corporations that employ a lot of people."

http://edition.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/08/06/lobbyists.democrats/index.htm...
Her campaign couldn't function without lobbyist money while Obama doesn't accept money from them.

But this is not the reason why I don't want Hillary to be president.
As I said it's because of her dance over Iraq, her efforts to undermine Gore in 2000, her lies about the IWR vote, her relationship with Gore basher Mark Penn, her stupid and arrogant health care plan and utter failure in 1994 and her never ending effort to inflate her resume and take credit for the good policies in the 90s when in fact she did nothing meaningful.

I'm not up for a pissing match today ;-) or talking about opinion as fact.

You already took your opinon as fact regardless of the actual facts.
And you already pissed on Gore on a website that supports Gore.

you have your ideas and want one candidate to win, and I want another... that's how it goes.

Except that I can back up my statement with data and you can't. You are driven by your emotions and nothing else which is pathetic.

This difference is I feel Hillary should and would pick Obama as a running mate and win for Democrats.

That's the key word: feel. What about a thinking?

And why can't you understand that Hillary cannot pick Obama as her running mate if Obama doesn't want to be her running mate? How do you argue against that?

You think Obama will win, and I say, mark my word he'll be loss #3 for Democrats.

Based on current polls the opposite is much more likely. That Hillary will lose to McCain.
And I can mark your words but that won't change those polls.

(Oh and I'm talking about being president not who won the popular vote in 2000)

Yeah because Gore should be blamed for the butterfly ballot, the canterpillar ballot, the 110,000+ overvotes, the illegal overseas ballots. Sure nothing like that could happen to Hillary in a too close to call election.

I assume we all wanted Gore, but he wasn't the President and didn't choose to run in '08.

He didn't become president but not because he didn't win the election.
And if you wanted Gore based on what Gore stood for you cannot support Hillary who
will not listen to Gore and won't do anything on climate change Gore thinks should be done simply because it's not politically safe and Hillary, the political hack she is, won't do anything that's not politically safe as she demonstrated that in 2002 when she should have voted against the IWR but was too coward to do so. Despite Gore's advice, I should add.

There is a reason why he doesn't support Clinton. He knows her true colors.

Barack Obama is the future, Clinton is the past.

Medullan Marauder's picture

It is time to put an end to the Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton nightmare that we have lived under for the last nineteen years, 27 if you count the "Gipper" fraud.
It is our government not theirs and I for one feel like we have been abused by our government since they (Bush/Clinton) have been in charge.

I do, for some unaccountable reason, feel a little sorry for Hillary after she got her hopes up but she will get over it. She can have a great career in the senate if she is interested.

Obama '08

Peace

Comparing Clinton to Bush is an atrocity of Truth...

Obviously you think Obama can win against McCain, and are suggesting Bush and Clinton are the same. Not True my friend... I hope we all agree, though I will admit any Democrat/Republican including Obama all can and do answer and are supported by big business. Obama does a good job of denying that... but let;s get real? Where does the money come from to run Obama's Campaign?

Electing Hilllary and I bet she would choose Obama as a running mate would be a great change. Universal Health Care which she first introduced and understands much better than Obama is a change. Obama is good, and I hope he is VP, but the rest is hog wash.

Well, we have a bush in the White House thanks to

Clinton. And it's not that Clinton has been fighting against Bush over the last 7 years.
He has been fighting against Obama instead.

Universal Health Care which she first introduced and understands much better than Obama is a change.

She didn't understand it in 1994 and she still doesn't understand it.
Her plan to force everyone to buy insurance and then punish those who choose not to HAS NO CHANCE OF BECOMING LAW. Get real.
Most Americans - including myself - will never accept this.

Obama's plan is much more moderate and more in line with the libertarian spirit most Americans have.
Also, he is a good negotiator while Hillary is arrogant and has a bunker mentality.
If you and your fellow blind sheeple elect her say goodbye to universal health care. She couldn't
deliver in 1994 and she won't deliver after 2009, either.

Also 1/3 of Obama's money came from $2.300 donors. 2/3 came fomr small donors, people like you.
By contrast more than half of Hillary's money came from $2.300 donors.
They are not even close no matter what you lie.

Hillary is smart, and wants to win, so I bet she will choose Obama as a running mate

Apparently Hillary's arrogance has infected you.
It's not gonna be Hillary who will decide who her running mate will be!

That person has to accept the offer, all right?

And Obama won't accept it. He doesn't want to be veep especially not Hillary Clinton's veep.
He is presidential timber and he won't be third banana in a Clinton-Clinton White House.

I'm surprised you would critiucize someone as arrogant

As they say... Time will tell... We all once agreed we wanted Gore to run for President in 'O8 and that's over. You have more time than I to sit here looking for fact after fact to support someone who sounds really good but says very little. Then again Bush and Cheney always manage to make a good case for all they do too.

As for Clinton being the reason Gore lost, and kerry lost? get real, and you call me a whiner.

So pick this apart line by line as you do... I'm still convinced Obama will not win in '08. If he's not a team player willing to wait until his record is one strong enough to win a Presidential election.

Get real. Look at the 2000 exit polls.

Look at the data in swing states. They show the same pattern: more than enough people
who approved Clinton as president but disliked him as a person voted for Bush to make a difference.
Now why did those voters exist at all? Why would someone approve Clinton's job performance but
dislike him at the same time?

Clinton had low favorable ratings in those states because he had an affair and lied about it under oath. It's that simple.

Missouri

Approval of Clinton job/ Opinion of Clinton as a person
20% Approve/unfavorable
42% voted for Bush

Total votes
~ 2,400,000

~ 201,000 votes for Bush from "approve/unfavorable" voters

Bush's margin of victory
78,786 votes

Nevada

19% Approve/unfavorable
42% voted for Bush

Total votes
~ 610,000

~ 48,700 votes for Bush from "approve/unfavorable" voters

Bush's margin of victory
21,597 votes

Arkansas

Approval of Clinton job/ Opinion of Clinton as a person

18% Approve/unfavorable
62% Gore
35% Bush

~ 58,000 votes for Bush from "approve/unfavorable" voters

Bush's margin of victory
50,172 votes

New Hampshire

Approval of Clinton job/ Opinion of Clinton as a person
25% Approve/unfavorable
65% Gore
32% Bush

~ 45,000 votes for Bush from "approve/unfavorable" voters

Bush's margin of victory
7211 votes

See the exit polls here:
http://www.msnbc.com/m/d2k/g/polls.asp?office=P&state=nh

Without the Clinton scandals Gore would have won NH, MO and NV. Not to mention FL
regardless whether Jews had voted for Buchanan or not.

I don't say this because that's what makes me feel good. I say it because I looked at the actual data
and it would be irrational to deny the obvious.

As for Kerry? Who talked about him? He lost fair and square and Clinton had nothing to do with that.
Clinton just happened to destroy Gore's chances.
