A dire prediction based on a big "IF"

_________________________

Because of the result of the Iowa straw poll, I am making a very dire prediction that if Al Gore does not enter the race very soon, we are all in deep deep trouble.

People are making choices on some extremely stupid reasons.

Mitt Romney won the straw poll mainly based on the idiotic premise some have that "It's time to elect a Mormon, a Black, or A Woman", and/or "How much money will you pay for my vote...", rather than, "Our country needs a true intelligent patriotic leader"

Frankly, I don't see this trend changing. And I hate that.

Why in hell would anyone choose Mitt Romney over Ron Paul. This makes no damned sense at all. Period.

I am starting to think Americans are too damned stupid to do anything at all right. All it takes to confirm this is to strike up a conversation with most anyone at random. I am saying "You will be shocked" not "You might be shocked". Or to look at how young adult people act ... really. Go out somewhere and try to explain any point of logic to anyone. Sometimes I am surprised people in America even know how to dress themselves. And in a lot of cases, it is blatantly obvious, sadly, that they really don't know how to dress themselves.

I feel real bad for those of us who DO want things to be righted, because we are a minority. Most people don't have an inkling in hell about what is actually happening before their very eyes.

We are up a raging creek in a leaky boat with no paddle or anything to use as a paddle in sight .... except Gore or Paul and no one sees this but for a few.

Lately, I keep having the old Art Linkletter theme from "People Are Funny" run through my head with the lyrics changed to "People Are Stupid".

"People are stupid ... da dah da dah da da .... People ... are stu-u-pid"

Sad ......

Hurry up Al!

I agree that Al Gore needs to announce fairly soon. Hilary is building quite a giant war chest and unfortunately is starting to separate herself from the pack. Historically, late entries into the race have fared poorly and I hope this would be one of the exceptions but regardless how well known Mr. Gore is, the old axiom of out of sight, out of mind is all too true in most cases! I also agree, for the most part that Americans are indeed ignorant, uninformedand far too naive when it comes to politics. The media and the GOP both want Hilary nominated because they know that is their ONLY chance to win in 2008. If Al Gore does not enter the race soon, most of these afore mentioned Americans will believe the current doctored up polls and think that Hilary is a lock for the nomination, thus sealing our fate!

Republican in-fighting

Wayne in WA State's picture

Of course Romney won the Iowa straw poll. He spent a few million dollars and a lot of time to win. It's not a primary where delegates are selected. It's just a 'straw-poll'. It doesn't mean much to us at all. The only thing it means is among Republicans, who comes in worse than expected among second tier candidates and has to drop out. Tommy Thompson dropped out.

Gore still needs to wait a month or two for the timing to be right for entering the primaries. Keep your toes crossed and write some letters. Together we will do this!

Stupid is not the right word

Reverend,
I agree, it is disheartening that Romney won the Iowa poll. He is heavily entrenched in Mormonism, which is just another phoney, evil religion to seal the fate of turning this country from a republic/democracy into a theocracy. Don't give up on people though. They are brainwashed and dumbed-down but we have to keep trying. I am planning to change parties to vote for Ron Paul, even though I think a Ron Paul candidacy is a long shot. I think we have got to get the word out to Iowans and others that VOTING FOR ROMNEY (and other mainstream presidential candidates) WOULD BE THE SAME AS A BUSH THIRD TERM.

VOTING FOR ROMNEY (and other mainstream candidates) WOULD MEAN IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NORTH AMERICAN UNION (NAU) and SECURITY PROSPERITY AND PEACE AGREEMENT (SPP) WHICH WOULD RESULT IN MASSIVE JOB LOSSES FOR PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY.

THE NORTH AMERICAN UNION SUPPORTS THE INTERESTS OF COMPANIES OF THE GLOBAL ELITES AND NOT THE INTERESTS OF PEOPLE. JUST WHO IS BEHIND THE NORTH AMERICAN UNION ANYWAY?

VOTING FOR ROMNEY (and other mainstream candidates) MEANS VOTING FOR THE STATUS QUO AS FAR AS GETTING 47 MILLION PEOPLE WHO ARE WITHOUT MEDICAL INSURANCE INSURED.

Endlass war, job loss, HB1s, illegal immigration, NAFTA (which translates into instant job loss and amnesty for illegal immigrants here) are issues that directly affect the daily lives of people and need to be emphasized. They need to be reminded that they need to vote for someone who really supports their best interest, and not because they like how somebody looks.

I have contacted the Ron Paul campaign and have asked them to place these kinds of ads in Iowa and NH. I believe a few well placed television ads of the kind mentioned above might wake people up and possibly turn things around. I think we need to convince people that the mainstream candidates in both parties DO NOT REPRESENT THEIR BEST INTERESTS. Maybe you could also contact the Ron Paul compaign with these suggestions?

PA-LEASE

This was a bought and paid for vote---counts for nothing! Romney spent 2-3 million dollars to get a few thousand "votes". Now who's stupid? We just have to keep the word circulating that a bought and paid for vote is practically the equivalent of bribery. Not that that would be anything new to politics a al status quo.

You may be right

Can't imagine a good religious, god-fearing guy like Romney stooping so low as to pay money for votes, but according to the following article, that is exactly what he did.

I think people should be aware that Romney, along with Bush, Cheney and Clinton, never served in Vietnam. The checkenhawk was supposedly supporting mormonism while living in France at the time and had the blessing of the mormon church. Apparently Romney also thinks its okay that none of his five sons have opted to serve in Iraq.

Hmm. Maybe Iowa should be covered with Romney signs - "chickenhawk" yellow, of course.
