asking Al Gore to run in 2008!
Is Al Gore Pro Hemp?
Posted July 23rd, 2007 by ProHempCody
Hemp can change this world, for the best. We need to slow down the global warming. Allowing Hemp to be legal to grow and be widly manufactured for the many uses that it has will do this. This country needs a President for the people. We (this country) are now being looked down apon. There needs to be a change.

Be part of the Draft Gore '08 campaign!

Hemp-Quarters: Earth
Al Gore is one of the most amazing men on the planet! And definitely the type of guy with a great head on his shoulders!!! I don't understand what the deal is with the entirety of the human race not accepting that mother earth is in charge!! Hemp is very very resourceful and isn't something that will make you attend a drug treatment center, but rather something that was put on the good earth, for a good reason! Al Gore singlehandedly is doing more for this planet than anyone else! I will follow this man to the ends of the Earth which will happen much later than it is going to, as long as we listen to him!
Al Must Be Pro Hemp...
or his credibility as an advocate for environmental change is jeopardized by not considering the most viable and resourceful plant on the planet. Global Hemp cultivation will significantly contribute to reducing deforestation of the Earth, increasing our natural bio-mass resources for fuel, revitalizing soil which has been raped by cotton & tobacco (even if it is only a rotational crop), and creating biodegradable products through the use of natural fiber rather than synthetic fiber.
The drug issue should not be the deterring factor for Al not being pro Hemp. Drugs exist...they will always exist...and they will always be used both responsibly and irresponsibly. Moving the focus of drug issues to be focused on health care & rehabilitation will prove to be far more productive than maintaining the status quo focus of criminalization. Jailing people for their personal consumption is a violation of our right to be human. Jailing people if they hurt another human through their personal consumption is another matter...meaning that humans should be held accountable for violating the right of another human.
If I consume any substance in or outside of my home and don't hurt anyone in any way...don't drive a vehicle under the influence, don't go to work under the influence, etc...why should it be possible for me to be jailed or my life ruined. Freedom for The People, people...let's not forget that.
It is my hope that Al Gore will be the man I believe he can be. He's been through a lot in his political career, as well as his activist career, and following through on his promise to promote environmental change (which should include drug law change and full legalization of Hemp) will set him a part from every President that any of us can remember.
I'm for Freedom...how about you? Al?
Peace,

Controlled legalization of drugs the only solution
Richard Keenam
I am in total agreement with everything you said Charlie. If we only had the money we are spending in our "War on Drugs", in apprehending and incarcerating those of victimless crimes. We are unfortunately, in so many ways, a nation of children who hasn't reached the maturiry of understanding the best ways of dealing with this nightmare in which we have placed ourselves. I believe that anything that is going to always be available to the public on a steady basis, whatever it may be, no matter however popular or unpopular it may be among a sizeable number of people, should be legalized and kept under proper government control. I was stationed in France in the late 50's, and with legalized prostitution, requiring prostitutes to be checked every month greatly reduced the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. While I don't advicate anyone taking harmful drugs, just think of the money the government would have if they manufactured and made available what drug addicts would able to be given prescriptions for, for what they must otherwise often cheat, steal and even kill for, to buy from a dealer. This money could also be spent on rehabilitating those who are addicted to hard and dangerous drugs. But if this can ever happen, I do believe we should then have very severe penalities for those who illegally sell and especially for those who get children involved. I would not consider imprisonment for life too severe for those who would then be doing this illegally. Freeing all of those who are now serving time on drugs would also greatly lower the prison population.
But my main reason for making contact is finding out how to get a Gore group started in Tuscaloosa AL. I and a U of AL professor buddy of mine have joined this main group but need to find the way to establish the two of us as the beginning of the Tuscaloosa AL group, believing there are many in this University city who would be interested.

sorry, but the u.s. will never legalize reefer. why?! to many corporations will start to slit throats. can you imagine quilted quad pli hemp toilet paper?
Yea i can imagine it, and in
Yea i can imagine it, and in that image I see lots of trees and cleaner air.
I'VE HAD ENOUGH ALREAD!
This post is acquiring the most comments. Enough! This country drinks too much, smokes too much, and is too quick to pop a pill for a quick fix. Don't you recall any of the conspiracy theories of yore that the government was keeping people "under the influence" so they wouldn't create an uproar to the war and other conniving schemes. Really, we need to clean up our act. I agree that there is probably too much criminality attached to pot use, however it is a gateway drug, as are cigarettes, and I don't think two wrongs make a right. Let's get back to the serious issue of Gore becoming president and do something productive today instead of toking and talking about what you might do and the woes of the world.
Had enough of what?
No ONE needs to start an uproar. This post will aquire the most post because it is what can change the world. Pot is not a drug. It is a plant one of the most powerful ones. And your drug Cigarettes kill millions upon millions. Pot does not. And this forum was made for a reason of a future president decieding to be pro-HEMP. At the moment there are many medical marijuana dispenseries being raided. Now this is a serious issue and if you don't understand it ask more please.
gate way drug
family, work, school and social congregation. 4 vastly more dangerous drugs to individuals who have low self esteem. life is a learning experience. if you manage not to die. then you will develop resistance to the things that once made your heart race and ears ring. pushing you further toward the next level of achievement, or bluntly, a better hi. the nail in the coffin is that eli whitney and dupont joined together to ban pot in the spectrum of ingestion. what they knew that the public did not, was that hemp grew quicker then cotton, did not need a chemical product (dupont) to break it down for processing (cotton does) and does not need a gin. hemp is long lasting and easy to work with no matter the product. but with these secrets under key. the public had no problem banning this product for its sinister intoxicant properties. but even on that note i can say this. ive gotten waaaaaay more wasted on a six pack for 4 bucks purchased by a vagrant. 4 grams of weed (dime sack) is 10 bucks. its about 3-4 "joints". even if i smoke the whole shabang. the physical drug effects are no were near the high of 6 12 ounce lagers nor do the effects last as long. weed 1-2 hours post smoking, alcohol 3-? hours+ hangover. further more i bought most of the weed during my life time in school, during class! this includes ounces and even a quarter pounder. i have learned much since and i have yet to die. but before i even knew allll this. i was buying weed 9th grade year in wood shop in a lutheran private hi school with less then 600 students. from a varsity football senior no less. to change a terrible law like anti weed. the whole of the u.s. would have to peacefully march on there congressmen. sadly. this problem is no were near the worst legal slight of hand. hence, demanding such a petty thing while millions choke on americas unwavering hi-way fumes. i can only offer the answer. but i do not condone it because there is so much more important things to march peacfully for. ergo, black budget spending.
i want those who bother to read this, to think outside of there own box.
I think Al Gore should be
I think Al Gore should be more prudent about this, he is a very influential public person and this campaign has a certain impact over the way people think. I believe his position in favor of hemp is somewhat dangerous, we are in the middle of a drug war and it can all become pretty confusing.
Drug Rehab
Interesting
Thoes hi-way fumes can be changed by using the oil of the hempseed. I don't wish for millions of Americans to leave there house to march peacfully for this. I wish for the people to realize that they have been lied to, cheated agian and notice that this plant, will help the world. Our government is shutting it down, making life for people who need its medical uses harder. This crop needs to be legal to cultivate and harvest. The U.S. needs to allow and/or force major manufacturing companies to use this plant for its uses.
the way things are
when i suggest marching, i imply people no longer leave the debates up to ham fisted politicians. people can come together to change there society a number of ways. but the key, is to extend beyond understanding. into action. peacefully i hope. interesting tid bit on the hemp seed thing, though. i heard the oil in its purest form can also clear artery's of cholesterol.
Sorry Gail
I want this site to focus on Al Gore. That's what I've been about for years.
But as a matter of record I don't think there is anything "wrong" at all with responsible cannabis use by adults. I do think there is something very wrong when whiskey-drinking cigar-chomping rednecks send people to prison, sometimes for very long sentences, for using a plant which was always legal everywhere throughout history until prohibitionists in the United States in the 1930's wanted to use the power of the police and the state to criminalize other people's choices.

Al Gore 2008
: P
dig many stereotypes recently?
Misunderstanding.
I don't wish to llegalize the usage of hemp. Are the people eduacated about the uses that hemp has. How many trees we could save. How to make the air much cleaner. How it has very good fiber. Hemp should be legal to grow in the United States. There are many people in this country that are williing to help with this. I am talking about hemp farms. If we (this country) made hemp legal to grow. There would be farms of people growing. This is a cash crop. You know this.
nice
those are the best points, but as a "head", i think it should be sold by the pack as well : P
Hemp is a drug and hence it won't be legalized
I don't care how much money anyone could make if it was legal.
By the same token you should agree with those farmers in Afghanistan. They are making money by selling drugs, after all.
As for saving trees, are you kidding me?
Even if growing hemp would save trees and we wouldn't have any other option to save them
who the hell cares about trees when the issue is drug usage?
Your priorities are not in order.
I sure hope it won't be
I sure hope it won't be legalized, creating a proper environment for cultivating hemp will also mean a drastic increase in drug use. I know drugs will never disappear but this is not an argument to cultivate more drugs. I really hope Al will understand the dangers and will focus on some other methods for saving the planet.
Drug treatment
Smoke Hemp your head will
Smoke Hemp your head will hurt and thats not a high. Legalize the cultivation of Hemp. Marijuana has different benifits and different cons.
life's disclaimer
warning: living on this planet may result in a sudden loss of your perceptive abilitys. different aspects of "clean" living (that means no caffeine too) still cause pain in ones life. ultimately, death ends the struggle. but as we (those who are reading this) are lucky enough to exist in this reality (america: the land of insane thoughts) should not dismiss what we have not been lucky enough to experience, with out that is... considering the facts. a gigantimo sub culture of stoners that has lingered for years. people who insist that smoking weed is not such a bad thing. but those same people who support weed are sadly ignorant of its industrial possibility. the scythians smoke and wore hemp. they also drank blood mixed with wine out of human skulls jerryrigged (jerry rig- to improvise. history- racist term- concocted by american troops who marveled at the quick fixes the late nazi regime had instigated on various machines due to lack of replacement parts) into a drinking vessel. they are also famous as greek slaves used as guards.
"cuz knowledge is power!"
The Stoners
This population is being eduacated by the knowleged that has been here for thousands of years. Maybe millions but that I don't know sorry. We will teach but this needs to be taught faster as for the global warming is overpowering us.
education!
thats the magic word for fixing the drug problem. are public schools that we throw are tax money at distorts facts students should learn about drugs. yes, drugs CAN be bad. but are natural and there means in use to get high should not be there industrial end.
trees?! screw them! right?
you can. but money talks. an acre of hemp can make the same quantity of paper that an acre of trees can in 1/4 the growth time. of course no one uses paper any more... right?
Too bad
You are attacking hemp, while the FDA is cramming experimental crap into our young people, and allowing it too be marketed all over TV.
Wake up and read on ....

U.S. health and safety officials have found yet another brilliant way to distract the public from realizing just how dangerous U.S.-made food and drug products are: Blame China! Lately, we've seen China blamed for everything from toxic toothpaste, deadly dog food, contaminated ginger and now lead-based paints in Mattel toys.
Of course, all the accusations are true. China's food and herbal products are so routinely contaminated with pesticides and heavy metals that high-quality supplement formulators in the United States refuse to buy products from China anymore. But the really clever part in all this is that blaming China prevents people from paying attention to the dangerous ingredients openly allowed in the U.S. food supply by the FDA.
Specifically, the FDA currently allows known cancer-causing chemicals to be widely used in both foods and drugs. Sodium nitrite, for example, has been irrefutably shown to cause pancreatic cancer, colon cancer, leukemia and brain tumors in children, and yet the FDA looks the other way while processed meat manufacturers continue to add sodium nitrite to meat products sold throughout the country.
What about all the children eating hot dogs and getting brain tumors from the highly carcinogenic nitrosamines created by eating such foods? No problem: Blame China! How about all the infants suffering birth defects from the nutritional deficiencies caused by their mothers chowing down refined grains, hydrogenated oils and nutrient-depleted procesed foods? No problem: Blame China! If you're a U.S. regulatory body and you're looking for an easy way out of owning up to actual responsibility, just play the China card. Invoke the blame game!
Advocating the chemical intoxication of the American people
The FDA also allows all kinds of toxic chemicals to be used in over-the-counter pharmaceuticals. Everything from cough syrups to pain pills seems to be openly contaminated with cancer-causing chemicals ranging from synthetic sweeteners to petrochemical-derived coloring chemicals. You can hardly pick up an over-the-counter medication at a convenience store without seeing some scary chemical on the ingredients list.
The USDA, meanwhile, openly allows U.S. farmers to inject cattle with hormones and antibiotics that are banned in most other countries, and the agency even has an open policy of allowing U.S. cattle to be fed chicken poop, roadkill, euthanized pets, and until recently, brain and spinal fluids from other dead, diseased cows. So what happens when consumers eating this stuff suffer bizarre neurological disorders like the human form of mad cow disease? Blame China!
In fact, the U.S. food supply is a toxic brew of synthetic chemicals and artificially modified molecules that are extremely harmful to human health. The list of such ingredients that should be banned from the food supply -- but won't be -- include MSG, processed sodium, refined white sugar, refined white flour, aspartame, saccharin, hydrogenated oils, artificial colors, chemical preservatives, color fixer chemicals and homogenized dairy fats (which cause heart disease). By screaming "China!" to the U.S. press and pointing the finger at dangerous Chinese-made products, the Food and Drug Administration diverts scrutiny from its own lousy lack of meaningful food safety enforcement with U.S. manufacturers.
The silent treatment
U.S. authorities, of course, remain silent about the deadly chemicals openly allowed in the U.S. food supply. Except for a few radical nutritionists like myself and other independent writers, practially nobody is warning the U.S. public over the dangers of sodium nitrite, MSG, aspartame and fluoride. It took years just to get consensus on the fact that trans fatty acids are dangerous to health, and even then, the FDA still refuses to ban them from the food supply, kow-towing to the interests of giant food corporations who insist they need hydrogenated oils to ensure longer shelf life for their food products (which guantees more profits).
There is currently no effort underway to ban known cancer-causing chemicals from the food supply, even when the science is very clear about the damage such chemicals are causing to the U.S. public. Sodium nitrite is a clear example of a toxic ingredient that has no real use other than turning dead meats a pretty pink color, and yet neither the FDA nor USDA have taken any interest in attempting to ban this ingredient from foods.
Why China should ban most U.S. processed foods
Technically, China should ban all processed meat imports from the United States, given that such meats contain detectable levels of cancer-causing chemicals in the form of sodium nitrite (and MSG, usually). If the world were really concerned about food safety, they would ban virtually all common food items made in the USA: Beef, hamburgers, processed meats, sugary sweets, diet sodas, frozen dinners and much more. The USA is the largest exporter of death and disease in the entire world. We sell more disease-promoting crap than anyone, and every country that adopts the U.S. diet sees an immediate and rapid decline in the health of its population.
You see, the "Blame China" campaign isn't really about protecting U.S. consumers from dangerous products. It's about shifting blame from the U.S. to some foreign country and making it appear that all food safety problems are somebody else's fault. At the same time, it creates the illusion that U.S. regulators are being vigilant in protecting our borders from dangerous products being shipped in from overseas. So it's a two-fer: Deflect blame, and appear stoic. Too bad it has nothing to do with reality.
As usual, the real problems in America are found within. The most dangerous foods, drugs and pet foods are all made right here in America, using FDA-approved toxic substances that are so deadly to the public they should be considered a form of chemical warfare. Antibacterial soaps, for example, are based on a nerve-killing chemical closely related to Agent Orange. Fluoride-enriched water products use a chemical form of fluoride considered a toxic waste from the fertilizer processing industry, and the widespread use of genetically modified corn in the food supply exposes virtually the entire population to alarming levels of chemical pesticides unleashed during digestion.
My CounterThink cartoon, the Food Terrorists, explains this in more detail.
But that's not all: Recently, the CRN (Council for Responsible Nutrition) suggested that functional foods currently being sold in the United States might have too much nutrition and should be strictly regulated so they don't provide too much funtional nourishment to consumers. This is part of the global effort to actually reduce the nutritional impact of food and unleash widespread nutritional deficiencies that will result in trillions of dollars in new profits for pharmaceutical companies. (CODEX is also part of this same effort to neutralize the nutrition in the food supply.)
So while the U.S. allows the chemical contamination of its foods and pushes for upper limits on meaningful nutrition, it successfully distracts the whole nation (especially the press) from the relevant issues by pointing at China and claiming China is the source of all our food safety problems.
Sleight of hand works for governments, too
Magicians use the same trick. Create a distraction, and while the audience is looking in that direction, you pull a fast one on the cards palmed in your other hand. Except in this case, U.S. food safety regulators aren't playing with cards; they're playing with the lives of the American people. And so far, they're losing big time: Americans are now the least healthy people in the world among industrialized nations. We suffer from more cancer, diabetes, obesity, depression, heart disease, violent behavior and sheer madness than any population in the world, and you can't blame China for all that.
The real problem, it turns out, is found inside our own borders. The real problem is the corporations and regulators that run America today and who unilaterally refuse to do anything meaningful to protect the lives and health of U.S. consumers. U.S. food companies put poisons right into the foods; cities drip poisonous fluoride into the water supply; pharmacies hand out poisonous medications to 40% of the population; chemical companies sell poisonous detergents, pesticides, fabric softeners, soaps and personal care products to virtually every household in America. And don't even get me started about cosmetics companies, pet food companies and infant formula manufacturers.
Blame China? Give me a break. How about blaming the corrupt, criminally-minded FDA bureaucrats who have utterly surrendered their duties to profiteering corporations fixated solely on exploiting American consumers for maximum profits?
All this doesn't mean China's foods are any safer. They're not. But U.S. foods, drugs and personal care products are just as toxic. Pick up a piece of beef jerky at any grocery store, and you'll find a combination of multiple cancer causing ingredients in a single product: Sodium nitrite, monosodium glutamate and even artificial colors (not to mention the toxic animal fat sources used to make beef jerky). Where is the FDA when it comes to protecting Americans from American companies?
The unstated double standard is that American foods are safe merely by the fact that they are made in America. But the only real difference between U.S. foods and Chinese foods is that the China-made ingredients will kill you faster... too fast for you to be profitable treated by pharmaceuticals.
American-made foods will kill you slowly, developing symptoms over a period of decades and stringing you along just enough to make sure you become a lifelong customer of Big Pharma. There's nothing like high-fructose corn syrup to keep a diabetic in constant need of medication. This fact, combined with the fact that the American Diabetes Association continues to recommend things like ice cream to diabetics (as long as they regulate their blood sugar with medication!), shows you just how important it is for corporate America to keep the American population just sick enough to need medication, but not so sick that they all keel over and die.
The real problem with China's toxic ingredients, you see, is that they kill Americans too quickly, thereby depriving Big Pharma of a lifetime of revenue treating some sick person's symptoms with extremely profitable patented medications. This is not appreciated in America because it competes with our own home-grown poisoning method that prefers to poison consumer more slowly, bilking them for hundreds of thousands of dollars in monopoly priced medications and hopefully killing them off right before Medicare or social security might kick in.
So the next time some ignorant bureaucrat (or friend, or family member) mentions to you how dangerous China's food products are, just ask them these simple questions:
1) Why does the FDA allow leukemia-causing chemicals to be added to hot dogs that are consumed by children? (Sodium nitrite)
2) Why does the FDA allows nerve-damaging monosodium glutamate chemicals (and derivatives) to be used in baby food?
3) Why does the Girl Scouts continue to make its famous cookies with partially-hydrogenated oils known to contribute to essential fatty acid deficiencies in infants?
4) Why is aspartame still allowed in the food supply at all? (An excotitoxin)
5) Why is mercury still tolerated in American dental work (and, in fact, still pushed by the American Dental Association!) when mercury ingestion is so dangerous to human health?
6) Why do vaccination policies still allow the mass injection of babies with methyl mercury, which has been clearly linked to autism and autoimmune disorders?
7) Why are extremely toxic, cancer-causing chemicals openly allowed to be used in skin care products, perfumes and personal care formulas sold throughout America?
8) Why are popular laundry products still allowed to be sold in the U.S. when they contain numerous cancer-causing chemicals that get embedded in the fibers of clothing and are easily absorbed through the skin?
9) Why do U.S. health authorities not merely tolerate, but actually encourage the mass drugging of schoolchildren with amphetamine drugs? (Ritalin, Adderall, etc.)
The answer, of course, is: Blame China! All our health problems are obviously China's fault, and anyone who suggests the U.S. is to blame for its own diseased population is obviously unpatriotic.

i think you just turned me off hot dogs, you bastard. i like sick ass over processed gut turds thank you very much. finnaly, this was a hemp forrum. if we (americans) dont already know we live on crap. then that person must not watch the news. but food is a larger thing to tackle then hemp. why? because its what everyone can agree on. we really really really need it and fast! ergo, there are even more corporations willing to fight for wrong. corporations are that invisible force chevy chase was talking about in caddyshack. the force in the world that makes things happen. a titanic, highly evolved animal that will seldom turn to flight.

Problems with Hemp? That can
Problems with Hemp?
That can not be. No problems if leaglized. Not one death from hemp usage. This hemp has many of the usages that our country needs refined. We need someone with courage. this government is for the people. I don't see that happing. Especially with Mr. bush's new law about protesting against him. He has the right of your property.? wtf. Votes by the people is the way I see this working out.
You don't speak for the people
Noone actually does as we are talking about hundreds of millions of individuals.
But if you can believe the polls most Americans do not want to legalize hemp.
Death is not the only one thing that can happen to people. In fact it's not even the worst.
So your argument about hemp not being deadly therefore it should be legalized is bogus.
Hemp is a drugs and there are plenty of problems with drugs.
most americans
most americans think most americans are concerned with one thing. but when you say it. it sounds pretty silly. if the vote is to be between only 2. then why bother to have the choice? why dosnt the emperor of the moon just reveal him self.
No he is not. Hemp is a drug.
His son happens to have some problem with drugs, including with marijuana.
Now connect the dots.
One More Time! An Example
Here's another example...most drain cleaners are toxic chemicals...(and some like lye NaOH are used to make illicit drugs)...but I'm not for having to sign a form to buy it because somebody may be 'stupid' enough to reach under my sink and swallow a big 'slug' of it and KILL themselves...
I feel the same way about marijuana, amphetamines, and even heroin...SURE they are BAD for you! But please don't pick my sober 'pockets' because somebody else needs to be stopped from doing it...Rehab and jail not only do NOT work, they FOSTER even 'worse' behavior from drug addicts exposed to these institutions...
At the beginning of the 20th century, in the early 1900's, and BEFORE that time, man could get ANY 'drug' he wanted, but MIRACULOUSLY mankind SURVIVED! Shouldn't 'drugs' have killed man off thousands of YEARS ago?
So when it comes to stupidities like banning 'hemp' or stopping 'dope' through interdiction you lose me...I was addicted to prescription Lomotil from 1979 until 2004 when I finally deemed the pill that was narcotic was screwing up my health...Then I QUIT taking it even though the doctor claimed it was safe, because it was MY idea! THAT's the point I am trying to make...if YOU are addicted to ANYTHING...and you DO NOT make the concious action of stopping THAT addiction yourself...then NOBODY OR NOTHING ELSE is going to DO IT for you! You have to STOP yourself! I never Rehabbed...I just QUIT!
Banning 'industrial hemp' does NOT make 'pot' less plentiful or easy to obtain...Educating young people and putting 100,000 more police that Clinton put on the street (that BU$H removed) may help in THAT regard...I am just sick of throwing $$$Money$$$ at the 'drug' problem and hoping it will go away...It won't so let people do 'as they please'...We will save $Billions$ of bucks! Banning 'industrial hemp' which can also be used as an 'energy' source, is the same as saying we need to ban 'corn' because it can be made into 'sour mash' then to ethyl alcohol that people can use as a drug (moonshine), without ever reviewing that ethanol can be used as a viable 'fuel'...
VERY AWSOME
This is the point that we need to get across. And now BUSH is giving BILLIONS of dollers to Mexico to fight the drug cartel? what is this nonsense it cannot be fought it can only be SLOWED... This BILLIONS can go toward much more. And our law is not effective. THIS IS SHOWN to us, because we still have billions of people doing these drugs. AND that BILLIONS of dollers could be put into legalizing and industrializing hemp inside of the US. Lets get someone in office that will listen to the people like our government was based on doing in the first place. Not a few people who are placed in there positions of power with a purpose to have a centrialized controlling government.
Actually, in fact ...

Yes I have heard
of how this government sells these drugs. If this is true than why do people let them get away with it? I am sure that the people of this country would not like this. I have seen and heard that phrase "Please do not lie, steal, or cheat. The government hates competition." many times and wonder how it still exists if people know of this. Do we have to call the Boondock Saints to take care of the people in our government that are doing these bad things? Taking matters into the peoples hands??? Were the matters should be. We all know that we don't live in a perfect society, but what is happing right now is TREASON AND HYPOCRACY and should not be aloud. The youger generation sees what is going on and learns from this. We don't want them to learn how to be TREASONOUS and HYPOCRITICAL.

Alcohol is a drug, and much more dangerous than marijuana. The reason that marijuana has the bad rap is because the FDA and the Feds cannot control it and tax it. Hence ... people get killed everyday due to drunkeness. No one has ever even come close to being the idiot from marijuana usage that alcohol produces.
Most of the drugs in the US are brought here by the CIA and the DEA to fund black-ops.
Drugs are not near as bad as our government. Especially the Bush administration.

It is a drug. Yes alcohol is also a drug
but it would be completely impossible to illegalize it. We tried it in the past it didn't work.
This doesn't mean we should say: oh there is one bad thing already why not create another one and legalize more drugs.
a ten foot pole
We are all here to support Al Gore but we are not all going to agree about hemp. That's fine.
As I see it, if we are serious about justice and equality then our laws do need to be changed. There is no way it is right for booze, cigarettes, and semi-automatic weapons to be legal and at the same time it's a federal offense to give one joint to a patient suffering from cancer. Prohibition should be repealed and cannabis taxed and regulated. It is just as impossible to stamp out marijuana through prohibition as it was alcohol. America has tried for 70 years since the Marijuana Tax-Stamp Act of 1937. That war is another failure. Millions of otherwise law-abiding citizens have been arrested and untold millions of taxpayer dollars have been wasted. Futhermore, it is true that hemp is one of natures best sources of raw materials and can contribute in the fight against global warming.
In a free society adults have the right to make their own choices. That's all folks.
Hemp to save the World
Our laws do need change. I am talking about legalizing hemp to grow. We need a president to fight for this. Under saving the world act.
I have to ask at this point:
what are you smoking?
?!
hemp helped the allies fight the nazi's!(u.s. g.i. ropes were hemp) are you anti hemp guys nazi's?! joke. : P
Smoking this
I am smoking the good stuff that everyone needs to be smoking. Realization.
Can't Help Myself My Take On This....
When it comes to illegal immigrants coming into the USA, then that is one thing...when Mexican Drug Dealers use them as 'mules'...dig tunnels...or fly over the border with their share of a $13 Billion Dollar Illegal Drug Trade then that is another...my take on it? If people want to be 'stupid' enough to kill themselves with illicit drugs then 'let them do it', rather than pick my pocket in taxes to stop it by propping up governments to the south of us run by 'dictators' or 'hegemonies' just to stop it...which is a ruse...I know I sound cold saying this...How about a quote?...Colin Powell said the 'only' thing that will stop illegal drug use is 'education'...(one of the supposed THEY said that)...so just about all the interdiction we do is like pouring $Billions$ of dollars down a giant toilet bowl...(you don't get it back...kinda like all that money we gave to Iraq with 'no strings' attached)...anyway here's the reasoning...you cannot tell 'industrial hemp' and 'marijuana' (Cannabis) apart unless you are a botany expert...THAT is why the government doesn't allow 'hemp' to be grown...THEY claim it makes marijuana easier to 'hide'...
Well, our government certainly IS...
Well, our government certainly IS the 'resident expert' on all that is hidden and covered up.
Yes
This is true. We need to fight this undemocratic government.
fight?
the free trade government is all consuming. to fight the government is to fight the people you wish to help. its the catch 22 of trying to solve u.s. social problems. the current government standing is never to go back on there word. i think im getting a hernia and im only 20. : (
What I stated above comes from study of the facts.

From the point of view of what determines pharmaceuticals from herbs, the fact is that marijuana is not a drug by pharmaceutical standards and descriptions.
It was labeled a drug by the US government for the reason that it cannot be taxed, watched and controlled as easy as the real pharma drugs are.
The FDA does not want anything that can be a natural cure or remedy to be free for public use if they cannot make a profit from it. The FDA is even attacking things like vitamins, oreganol, tee tree oil, and anything that will make a human being healthy.
It is not about the health of the person, it is about keeping the person ill so they can make a profit from selling you a drug, which in many cases makes you a guinea pig for testing at your cost, and keeping a person unhealthy makes it easier for the neo con fascists to control the populace.
Yabu, the US government has been cramming dis-information down people's throats for so long that the Orwellian "Doublespeak" is now in usage and falsehoods are now accepted as a fact.
Black is white. Up is down.
War is Peace.
Freedom is Slavery.
Ignorance is Strength.
It is as if the neos are using Orwell's 1984 as an operations manual.
Gore pegged it perfectly. Assault on Reason.
I pray that the mesmerized sheeple wake up before our nation is gone. They have been lying to us and misleading most of us for over a century now.

And you ignored one small fact
That hemp is a drug.
No need for spin and euphemism.
It has a psychoactive effect hence it's a drug. That's why it's illegal. And it should remain illegal.

I didn't get it from the US government.
My brother used it. And thanks I know very well what it does.
You should stop using the word "natural" as if that would automatically imply something positive. Nature is an ugly place full of subtances which harm and kill humans.
In fact there is NOTHING outside of nature, so everything that exists cannot be other than natural.
