How long do we keep waiting?

The polls show many people support Al Gore. The Algore.org campaign demonstrates that people are willing to work for him even though he has not entered the fray. So how long do we all work on this? I myself want to work to get a democrat into office for 2008. Just curious about people's thoughts. How long will be too long for Al Gore to wait to announce?

How long do we wait? At least one more month

Stand by for an October Surprise

Live Earth

Well, I suppose the thinking might have been correct. I have to admit I was not that wowed by the Live Earth concert. People I talked to were largely unaware of the event, and it seemed to me that it got lost in all the other "aid" concerts. I hope that it helps Al out, and that if he wants to run, it will boost his popularity with some people that might have been unfamiliar with him. I agree that it is very early in the horse race, but I'm not sure the herd will be cut down to size anytime soon.

That's ridiculous. Why not

That's ridiculous. Why not politicize something if you are in politics and going to make a run for the presidency. That makes about as much sense as Wes Clark not campaigning in Iowa last time around. After July 7, I'm sure we will be able to come up with another event or reason Gore will choose to wait....and wait....and wait.....and wait

Not really ridiculous, if you think about it.

On the contrary, it's BRILLIANT!

He has been increasing his place in the polls without "running" in the conventional sense of the term. He is technically NOT in politics right now, and who could blame him. Who among us are really feeling good about the current state of the political realm. He is instead working tirelessly on the actual issues he supports, rather than wasting his time just talking about issues. He is a man of action, and his actions speak much louder, for me and many others, than the empty words of the rest of the "candidates" (Dem and Rep.). If his way of "running" is to put into action what he believes - then keep running, Al!

If he does plan to run, waiting actually does make perfect sense at this point - the others are jumping in too early, and there are too many of them. Waiting for the thinning of the herd makes perfect sense when you consider it. He doesn't have to enter the fray in order to be seen and heard, and to get publicity, for that matter. He's running the perfect "non-race". He's everywhere, on the tip of everyones tongues, and at the end of the spears of his opponents - they're worried he really will run.

Live Earth is coming up and it is hugely important to ensure that the message about climate change gets out to the world. He will simply not use that as his political sound board - he won't let the concerts be about his entering the race.

And fundraising won't be a problem either, even starting late - therefore, a non-issue.

So, entering the "horserace" as things stand now, that IS ridiculous!

The only thing I can say for

The only thing I can say for sure is that there's no chance he'll announce before his Live Earth concerts on July 7...doing so would run the risk of politicizing them, something he definitely does not want to happen. After that though, it's fair game.

It's a good question

It's a good question you're asking. We're all getting impatient, and for many of us, our fears that Gore is missing the bus are surfacing. All the declared candidates are collecting money, getting publicity, engaging in debates, and Al Gore is still saying he has no plans of running (but he hasn't ruled it out).

What we need to remember is that Gore himself said, years ago, that if he were ever to run again, he'd run an unconventional campaign. Perhaps this is it? A non-campaign is an unconventional campaign, you gotta admit!

First of all, I don't think Gore banked on the other candidates declaring so early. And I believe that the timing of the release of his book "The Assault on Reason," set for May 22nd, is more than just a coincidence. If he had thoughts of entering the race, it would make sense to release a political book in May. That would be followed by a couple of months of a book tour, which would take us into late summer. Then, in the fall, he could announce his intentions (if he decides to run). It all makes sense. But of course, Hillary and Obama and everyone else have jumped in so early, and this is almost certainly something Gore didn't (and couldn't) anticipate.

There's still time for him to get in. We need to continue doing what we're doing. No, I take that back. We need to start doing a lot more than we've been doing. We have plans for Phase II of our operation, which will take us through the next couple of months. The plans are for us to aggressively pursue our growth, and then in the summer, for Phase III, we can tackle the political end of our campaign, working from within the Dem. Party to get support for Gore. And hopefully, during Phase IV, Gore will make his announcement.

Be patient. Continue working with us. Do everything you can to get the word out.

Build it, and he will come.

I don't know what Al's

I don't know what Al's calendar looks like, but I would like to see people start chanting "Run Al Run" every time he speaks publicly. Don't even let him talk until he says OK.

how long?

Most Gore-watchers are thinking late September or maybe October 2007. Who knows, but don't fret as long as Al doesn't speak with General Sherman before then.

IS he going to run?

Getting close to January is is going to happen?

A hero shall not speak, when he is gone the world will speak for him

If the amount of activity on this web site is any indication... it ain't gonna to happen.
Too bad... Al would have been a good one.

For better or worse, Gore activity on the web has moved away from the AlGore.org forum. A lot more people post at the AlGoreSupportCenter forum. America for Gore, Draft Gore, Gore Hub, Randi Rhodes, Daily KOS, and so on have become places on the web for Al Gore for President supporters.

Yep! This used to be the place until the sudden remodeling job chopped us all up last winter. I miss some of those folks. I see some of them here, but I prefer the format of AlGoreSupportCenter. Try it there if it's not working for you here. Same thing, only different!

If you truly practice what you preach ...

Run for President Al. If you truly want to make a difference in global warming you would be running again for President. You can only sit on the sidelines for only so long.

You are in a position to make this difference. We stand behind you!
