asking Al Gore to run in 2008!
Colombia President (Alvaro Uribe Velez)

Latin-American Policy:
Dear Mr. Gore:
Colombia need of the United States, and United States need from Colombia as Latin-American Friend. Our President Alvaro Uribe Velez is Colombia.
The cancellation of the meeting with our president is a mistake, a great mistake. I solicit to you reconsider its position, by the benefit of Colombia and of the United States

Trust
I don't really trust people coming from that part of the world. I think they should get an addiction treatment first, before doing something official, because you can never know what did hit them.
Hello? Gore does not represent the United States over there.
He is a private citizen in case you forgot. He can meet with whoever he wants and he can reject whoever he wants. If he doesn't like Uribe it's his business.
Is there some law out there which says if Al Gore is in Columbia he absolutely has to meet with Alvaro Uribe Velez, of all people?
Explain why it is a "great mistake"? Just because you happen to like him?
For that matter I don't like the guy, either. I guess that is a "great mistake".
But Alvaro Uribe Velez is not Columbia. He is just one person.
PLAN Colombia
As long as Al is telling the truth, he might as well tell the whole truth about Plan Colombia as the US Drug War Colombian subsidiary is called. I hope he doesn't support it! The environmental implications of spraying Roundup on the rain-forest is enough by itself to indict the whole "program." It is, however, much worse than just that.
I dunno, I'm new here; do you people support this war on the Colombian people and their natural world? Does anybody still support Drug War, Inc. at all? Anyone think drug prohibition is not totally counter-productive? Anybody other than brain-dead amoral neo-cons, that is?
