Al Gore's carbon footprint, esp. his house in the Belle Meade area of Nashville

Hi,
I've just spent some time searching the web for a response to critics calling Al Gore a hypocrite for using a lot of energy to run his mansion in Belle Meade. Gee it would help if there were a fact sheet from Al Gore himself on the carbon footprint of that house.

The lack of a response, readily findable, is surprising.

One of the criticisms of conservatives against liberals is "hypocrisy."

I am convinced of the message of "An Inconvenient Truth" especially the message that we Americans can take this challenge seriously and take many bold steps to reduce the effects of greenhouse gases on the planet.

Those were the best comments people could come up with? Wow. One person is insulting and the other just deflects the topic at hand. Tsk tsk. I don't have the answer, so this reply is almost as lame. But I still expected better.

It would be interesting to find out city documents stating the energy usage on his home. I do agree that most politicians live pretty luxurious lifestyles. I think they all know better, but most have never lived at poverty-level so aren't realisticall aware of how frugal one can really live and get by (energy-wise and financially).

Data about energy usage would say nothing about

carbon footprint.

People always confuse the two.

If the source of the energy is not fossil fuel there is no carbon footprint to talk about.

Gore uses renewable sources to power his house, solar, wind and methane gas.

And Gore did respond you just didn't pay attention.

Old discredited story.

If you didn't find a response you are either:

1. blind

2. too dumb to understand what you read

3. too lazy to research for more than 2 minutes

If you want to find real hypocrites just look at the Republican party.
