Change for the Better
It is no secret that Al Gore's evidence supporting the harsh reality of Global Warming is not received well by political opponents, namely Bushoian Republicans. The fact remains that the climate crisis is a reality. The former Vice President's testimony in front of Congress in late March presented two choices: take the moral high ground and solve the problem, or answer tough questions about lack of courage from future generations. Given the overwhelming credibility of his research and presentation of facts it is laughable that many conservatives still disagree at the reality of global warming. However, there is one facet to this opposition that has not been addressed. Even if some don't agree with Al Gore, and believe the climate crisis to be a fallacy, shouldn’t we still want to change for the better? The climate crisis does not strictly revolve around carbon emissions. It is about waste and pollution in general. I fail to see how ignoring all facets of our climate crisis does us any good. Once again, this proves that many in the current administration lack the visionary foresight that will help restore our nation's stance as a leader in the free world.
