I want to get involved in the Al Gore campaign. We need to pull together and support Mr. Gore and convince him to run in 2008.

Democrats Do Not Have A Canidate That Can Win.
It appears we are headed to another 4 years of Republican draught. Obama or Clinton can NOT win in the reguar election. It is obvious Obama is running on race and I cannot vote for a man or woman that is interested in nothing but race. Clinton on the other hand is running on Bills record and she need to learn to stand on her own two feet.
Unless Al Gore comes to the arena, and soon, we are going to see 4 more years of the same thing BUsh had put us through. Wake up AL the working men and women of these United States need you.

ULTIMATELY, I BELIEVE WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO IT. I AM NOT CONVINCED THE MAJORITY WILL VOTE AN THE AFRICAN AMERICAN FOR PRESIDENT YET, SO THEY PROBABLY WILL MOST LIKELY VOTE MCCAIN IN.
I HAVE WORKED FOR 25 YEARS IN URBAN CITIES. I HAVE WORKED FOR & WITH SOME OF THE MOST BRILLIANT AFRICAN AMERICANS. WE ARE MORE READY THAN WE HAVE EVER BEEN, FOR AFRICAN AMERICAN LEADERSHIP, BUT I DO NOT THINK THAT THIS YEAR IS THE SAFEST TIME.- I FEAR FOR OBAMA'S SAFETY.
I BELIEVE THAT OBAMA SHOULD SERVE IN A HIGH RANKING POSITION IN THE WHITE HOUSE, BUT, NOT PRESIDENT YET. IN 4 YEARS AFTER 4 YEARS OF WHITE HOUSE EXPERIENCE, HE WILL BE A GREAT CANDIDATE.
THE CLAIM ABOUT NO MORE OF THE SAME IS RIDICULOUS. NO QUESTION BUSH NEEDS TO GO. HE HAD NO BUSINESS IN THE WHITE HOUSE IN THE FIRST PLACE. IF GEORGE HAD HALF OF A CLUE, HE WOULD HAVE NEVER PRANCED IN & IMMEDIATELY DISMEMBERED OUR COUNTRY'S EMERGENCY RESCUE SYSTEM PUT IN PLACE BY THE GORE/CLINTON ADMINISTRATION.

I think that is completely wrong. Obama is not running on race, he's running as a US Senator seeking to be President. Your comment makes me suspicious that you are the one interested in nothing but race.

We have these 2 candidates and we have to support them or we will be in IRAQ FOR ANOTHER 150 YRS IF GEN MCCAIN GETS HIS WAY.....I have 2 sons and I know that our military cannot continue to be stretched this thin & be successful and since we will undoubtedly be Bomb bomb bombing Iran also they will have to implement the DRAFT and I dont want my boys going to die so Dubya and Quick Draw McCheney get MORE money from the OIL they are stealing from the Iraqi people in their oil sharing agreements........
Since VP Gore has stated that he wont run we have no choice -
We HAVE to UNITE and put a DEM in office REGARDLESS of our feelings of gender or race

Just wanted to say Hi to you all. I live in Miami, OK. and I will support Al Gore all the way to the White House. Do any of you have any Al Gore campaign memorabillia? I have a button from 2000. I am also a veteran of the U.S. Navy and I support our troops but we need to bring them all home now. I would like to hear your comments on the war. THANKS!

I am in total agreement with you RICKYB.
I supported Al Gore in 2000 also and I gotta tell you, I have 3 sons in the military at this time 1 Air Force and 2 Army. My sons were all ready to go to Afghanistan and even to die for their country but as we all can see, the war is not in afghanistan anymore.
This is and has been very confusing for me as we went in to Afghanistan, got AQ out and then left! Bin Laden there. THEN went to Iraq and got Sadam and we are still there?
I know I am not a rocket scientist, but I sure can tell that there is something wrong with this picture.
I had a sign in my front yard in 2000 as EVERYONE here in my small little town (2100) is straight Republican ticket and with only 2100 people, there is 21 churches and YES! the bible belt!.
Well like I said I had signs in my front yard as I have the right as anyone else does to vote how I want. NOT only are all my sons serving to protect this right. My brother, My dad, uncles, husband, friends and others have fought for this for me.
Well the night before my voting turn, MY SIGN WAS STOLEN! , well this didnt prevent me from voting!
I also had my signs out on the 2004 election and again my signs got stolen.
This is a disgrace for this to happen in any community in the U.S.
I am not one to vote for who the pastor tells me to vote for but YES this does happen here.
LOL they drive around to all the nursing homes and get all these little old people in vans and shuttle them to the voting place and give them a ride back!
I could not believe that this was happening.
Well Al Gore and Wesley Clark would do me a favor of letting me sleep at night!
I don't think Mr. Clark will be running but I pray that GORE does.
I know some of you probably wont want to hear this and I can't believe I am saying it but I seriously think we need to do a mandatory service time so we can build up our services as this situation should have never happened.
I think it should be an even thing for rich, poor and patriots.
My sons want to serve their country but I don't see the congress and senate and other people making these war decisions putting their children in the military,
Maybe if they did, they would think a little more next time!

Hi Nancy and welcome to the group.Your post was right on. I've liked and supported Gore ever since he was V.P. If It hadn't been for the questionable vote count in FL(which I think was fixed from the get go) Gore would be president right now. Yes we live in the Bible belt and ministers have the power to sway their followers(like sheep) to vote their way. It's unfortunate but a fact of life. I live here in S.W. MO too.I'm a Marine Vietnam Veteran and my hats off to your sons and family. I thank them for serving.This country has once again gotten into a war that the powers that be don't know how to get out of. Maybe one day we'll learn from our mistakes.

I don't have any pins/stickers, or any signs promoting Al Gore, my wife and I have been strapped for money since I joined here, otherwise I would've ordered some buttons/bumper stickers by now....But, welcome...there isn't many Democrats in the SW Missouri area...we are mainly an underground group of sorts....

The more support the better. It is comforting to hear from a veteran who also wants the troops home. I am tired of Bush and cronnies making stupid judgemental remarks about our lack of patriotism and concern for the troops because we want an exit plan and we want it soon. In fact, I think it is because of our patriotism that we want them home. I have always believed we were respected as the peace keepers---we have lost that reputation and the ramifications of that we will still have to discover. I have a Re-elect Al Gore bumper sticker on my car. I saw him once about 9 years ago as he drove by after a lecture--I flashed him the peace sign--kind of ironic.
On Thursday
I was in a debate with a local repugnant Republican talk show host.
They where trying to make the claim that G.W Bu$h was like Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War.
I blew that funny bologna out of the water by explaining how the signing of the emancipation proclamation united us; Bu$h only knows how to divide us.
Then I went on to attack her by saying that the Bible tells us about people like you. She responded by saying,” so I some unGodly immoral whore.”
I cut her off & told her she was a liar, & went on to say that for her to say that I am turning my back on the troops for supporting the Democrats bill was a lie.” “ This war is a lost cause under the leadership of G.W. Bu$h.”
After the commercial she lead off by saying. ,” So I some unGodly immoral whore. Those aren’t my words those are Marcell’s words”.
These repugs make me sick! They try to give the perception that they have such Christian values then they slandering those who respectfully disagree with them without any apology, its their M.O.

That is a very common trait in many of the RWers that I met in my area...its like a total disconnect from reality.....I feel your pain, I think thats why I don't argue with them much anymore, unless they say something stupid (which happens a lot, so I guess I argue a lot!).....:)

I'm a Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran and I totally agree. Our troops completed their mission when they found Saddam. That was supposed to be the reason we went there.
It's past time to come home. If the present Democratic candidates are our only choice then I'm sorry to say that we will more than likely see another Republican in the White House. We have to convince Al Gore to run. He is THE ONLY ONE that can get our country back on track. Peace V.
