Anybody Ever SeeThis Wikipedia Polling 2008 List?

Here's a collection of polls going back to June 2007 all in one place on Wikipedia.

We Need Al Gore in the Polls

Many of the recent polls have Hillary in the lead. I find that very distressing because I believe that she comes off as Hawkish as the Bush Clan. For those of us in favor of a New Direction in Iraq, we need Al Gore. He predicted what would happen if we went there. He has the experience in many military decisions to get us out safely.

There are a lot of positive attributes about many of the Democratic candidates. But we need a Democratic candidate that can win. The Clintons, as much as we like some of the things that they have done, are very polarizing. In fact, I partially hold them responsible for why we have Bush today. We do need change in the White House in 2008. I don't think that Hillary really represents change.

Al Gore was years ahead of his time on global environmental policies. Now we are finally becoming aware that the time to discuss these issues is now. Rarely do we hear the environment discussed in the debates. We need a president who will make the environment a priority.

Rumors say that Al will not enter the race because he wants the Nobel Prize. Some say that he will not receive the Prize if he enters the race because the Nobel Prize Committee does not want to affect elections.

Al Gore needs to decide what is more important - a high status award, or the opportunity to implement the changes in the U.S. government and in world environmental policy.
What would be more precious - the award, or the ability to change the direction of the Supreme Court? Only he can decide.

Where did you hear the rumors?

I am curious. This is the only place online I have heard the rumor.

Would I like to win the Nobel prize? Sure. Does Al want to win the Nobel prize? Very likely so.

But I have every confidence that Al Gore cares a million times more about what happens to America and the world, than he does about winning any award. Whatever reasons Al has for timing his decisions I can guarantee he is not passing on the Presidency to win the Nobel Prize. My sense is that Gore probably won't win the Nobel prize this year. I think he'll win it in about 2018 or 2020 after his two terms are over.

That is so right!
There is not a ghost of a chance that Gore would prefer the 'Award' over the 'Goal'.

Why can't he have both?

The Nobel Prize will be announced on Oct.12th. He can announce afterwards. It certainly wouldn't be too late.

Yes, he can have both

Even if he doesn't win it he can still enter presidential contest after October 12th. In general I don't think most Americans care about the Nobel prize, but if he does get it, it will only help him and his cause.
