Gore wins Nobel Peace Prize

Breaking - - The 2007 Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and Al Gore for "their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change."
According to the official press release from The Norwegian Nobel Committee: "Al Gore has for a long time been one of the world's leading environmentalist politicians. He became aware at an early stage of the climatic challenges the world is facing. His strong commitment, reflected in political activity, lectures, films and books, has strengthened the struggle against climate change. He is probably the single individual who has done most to create greater worldwide understanding of the measures that need to be adopted.
By awarding the Nobel Peace Prize for 2007 to the IPCC and Al Gore, the Norwegian Nobel Committee is seeking to contribute to a sharper focus on the processes and decisions that appear to be necessary to protect the world’s future climate, and thereby to reduce the threat to the security of mankind. Action is necessary now, before climate change moves beyond man’s control."

Al Gore needs to run now, and if he doesn't it would be very selfish of him. This isn't about him, it's about the country, We elected him in 2000 and we deserve to see this put right. What kind of country do we live in where Hilary Clinton is the inevitable candidate and it's only October 2007, the election is more than a year away! Al Gore can really fix this country as president. He knows what's wrong here. He should win by a landslide.

Primero que nada, quiero felicitarle por su gran victoria y por la larga batalla que Ud. ha venido desempeñando todos estos años por la Ecología y el Medio Ambiente.
Ud. es una persona muy especial, no solo conoce su materia en la rama de Ecología y Medio Ambiente, sino que tambien es Ud.un maestro en la rama de la política; sin duda alguna, Ud.es un hombre del Renacimiento.
Quisiera tomar esta oportunidad para instarle a que considere positivamente correr para la nominación de su Partido con vista a la Presidencia de EE.UU. en el 2008.

Heartfelt congratulations Mr. Gore. Please continue your work, which may in fact be more effective if you don't run for the election :-( as it allows you the real freedom to speak without political repercussions or interfering lobbyist interests...
I'm a Canadian living in Germany who is unfortunately glad that she has less and less connection with the USA. Do the Americans realize that citizens of other nations have lost respect for them, that we no longer understand why they're "proud to be American"? Continue to educate them (and us) Mr. Gore, you've got all of our attention now...

Congratulations!!! The world agrees and awards you and a few republicans are mad as hell. Why as they are suppose to be good superior Christian’s right? Could it be that you’re doing the right stuff and producing good fruit so to speak? I think so. Often I think of the phrase “What would Jesus do”? Would he want us to clean up the planet, help the poor, the widows, the orphans and the least of these and lift individuals up or would he want to pollute the world, take from the poor, give to the rich and destroy friendships and good relationships built up for decades?
At present I see words put into action by Al Gore and lies and deceit from our present administration. At one time in our nation’s history it might be important to note that the majority of the faithful were Democrats. Could it be that the tide is turning? It seems that way. We all know Al is a faithful and religious man that does not ware this constantly on his shirt sleeve. His actions instead reflect it. Better a man to produce good fruits and to have people ask: “What is different about this man”? Then to constantly profess your faith and for individuals to say: “Where is your fruit and why are you so mean”?
My blog is not intended to be about religion but rather to get the republican religious community to wake up and see that their well meaning thoughts are twisted around and that while no man is perfect Al gore is a man that could truly make a difference if they could only weed through and see the distortion in the extreme right wing propaganda machine. Finally if both republicans and democrats don’t start making the smart decisions that work on cleaning this place up and bringing our country and this world together it won’t be to many years away that our world will look like a “Mad Max Movie”.
Al I hope you have had a winning plan all along to win the presidency and if so this republican will back you.

Chamo-me Humberta Bettencourt e sou açoriana. Vivo neste pequeno arquipélago no meio do Oceano Atlântico que faz parte do território português.
Desde sempre o Sr. Gore chamou-me à atenção pela sua frontalidade, pela sua forma de lutar pelo que acredita.
Por ter a coragem de lutar contra o que está estabelecido especialmente numa super potencia como são os EUA sem medos nem receios.
Apesar de não viver nos EUA se vivesse, por si tinha ido à luta porque o Mundo precisa de mais Homens como o Sr.
Sinto-me feliz hoje. Finalmente fez-se justiça!
Agora finalmente percebo para que servem os prémios Nobel e que de facto são atribuidos com justiça!
