Conference Calls

When you send a message like "America for Gore conference call tonight", it would be good if you specified better when "tonight" is by giving a date. These messages do not always arrive on the date they were sent and some of us do not have the luxury of checking e-mail every day. This would avoid confusion. Also, it would be best if such information could be given more in advance so as to enable us to plan our activities so as to be at a place at the time of the call to enable participation.

NAFTA
Some people or most in general are not as educated as the minor few. With that in mine, industrial manufacturing type factories jobs must be available, the service sector cannot support the imposed job load from blue-collar working class. If the minimum wage is raised to $10 /hr An indiviual will make $20,000 /yr. This will bring alot of americans out of poverty and at the bottom tier of the middle class. Which should reflect the standard living cost .With properly funded education thie economy will grow stronger.
Health care should be only for the documented worker just like social security, unemployment benefits,& state disablilitiy insurance. This would be one way the government can assure less people will be willing to work under the table, Just another perk an undocumented worker would be missing out on, Not to mention being denied his worker rights as done in 3rd world countries.
To reduce CO2 emissions, we will have to go the nuclear because I don't believe solar, wind, or geothermal options will be enough. We must start now, time is running out while we debate for proper action. Chris Sobek

Reaching Gore Supporters
I check algore.org for info on meetings on almost a daily basis. Events like conference calls and meetings should be easily accessable - on the home page, not buried in a blog.
I missed that opportunity because the event was not obvious.
I saw another member of my group doing a test on the events page. While organizers may be meeting and communicating, it's not obvious to outsiders. If we truly want people to join, the home page of this site should be updated on a daily basis like other sites. There is so much information out there - we should not have to search dailykos or the Huffington Post to see what Gore has said or done. I want this site to be THE site that someone turns to for information on whether Gore has announced that he will run.
I know that members of various DRAFT AL GORE groups are trying to get him on the 2008 ballots in various states. It would be nice to know if that is happening, and how we can help. I'd like to see a weekly update sent out to members by their local organizers. It would be similar to how I get a daily email from the Huffington Post.

It's an excellent point ecomom2008, thanks for making it. I too am frustrated with the difficulty of information dissemination. Being new to this, I am trying to learn how to spread important info in the best way & assumed organizers receive this as an email & forward it on when deemed important.
Dylan at Americaforgore.com (also GoreHub.com) is trying to help solve this very problem to connect all Gore groups & supporters & this was the topic of the conference call. AlGore.org absolutely is THE site for people who want to get involved & active, and hopefully a couple of website issues, in particular, the events section will be addressed soon.
The conference calls will be weekly, Sunday for leadership, and Tuesday for everyone (leaders, local organizers, group members, and supporters in general) as I understand it. Listen in on Tuesday; it is not intended in any way to distract from our local AlGore.org work (& definitely should not), but it is an excellent way to connect and learn.

Of the phone conference. Planning weekly or so campaign "blitzes". Starting with letter writing to increase media attention. This is to encourage everyone to email or write the likes of Olbermann & Randi Rhodes about our hopes for a Gore run so they may discuss our organized effort to get him in. The more media attention the better. I've got to get to work but I will try to post links to our media spokespersons as soon as I can. I'm going to ask Olbermann what he'd think about becoming the press secretary to President Gore. Peace
