George Carlin

George Carlin: "The Planet is Fine."

It's kind of an alternative "Inconvenient Truth." You'll be misled if you take Carlin's message literally, but if you consider the second part of it -- "it's the people that are f**ked" -- you'll get his real point.

I think Carlin may have given the planet more credit than it is due in terms of its ability to defend itself against the effects of us humans. But the idea that we should be honest and talk about saving ourselves --which is what we really mean when we say, "save the planet" -- is in right in tune with Al Gore's message in "An Inconvenient Truth."

I loved Carlin as a comedian, and I admired him as a satirist and social commentator, and even though I did not always agree with him, I will miss him.

Looking Up

Rest In Peace George Carlin, we are all going to miss you

But, we can take comfort that he's in a better place now, smiling as he looks up at us
