Prop 8
Posted November 16th, 2008 by gailwindsI was in California late October and saw many signs saying vote yes for Prop8 on people's lawns. I wasn't sure what it was about and when I asked my son he said "It's about the gay marriage thing." I thought it was very Californian for so many people to be saying yes to gay marrriages until it was clarified for me that voting yes was actually voting no to gay marriage. I wondered if others who were unclear like me may have voted yes thinking they were supporting equal rights when in actuality they were taking rights away. Any thoughts?

The inspiring and transformative choice by the American people to elect Barack Obama as our 44th president lays the foundation for another fateful choice that he - and we - must make this January to begin an emergency rescue of human civilization from the imminent and rapidly growing threat posed by the climate crisis.

There are endorsements that no one welcomes, however enthusiastic: Hamas for Obama, Osama for McCain. But what of the entire globe? Barack Obama goes into today’s vote with the overwhelming backing of the world beyond America’s borders in a presidential race that has gripped audiences like no election before.

Dear God,
The other night, the Rev. James Dobson's ministry asked all believers to pray for a storm on Thursday night so that the Obama acceptance speech outdoors in Denver would have to be cancelled.
I see that You have answered Rev. Dobson's prayers -- except the storm You have sent to earth is not over Denver, but on its way to New Orleans! In fact, You have scheduled it to hit Louisiana at exactly the moment that George W. Bush is to deliver his speech at the Republican National Convention.
WHO MAY BE WORSE THAN BUSH?
Posted August 3rd, 2008 by gailwindsJoe Lieberman! Can you believe this guy? I'd like to hear Gore's views on him! Are their any Connecticut folk here? What do you think of what's become of your Democrat?

Becoming Obama
Posted June 27th, 2008 by gailwindsOur country is facing enormous challenges. I hear Obama "fine tuning" his position on these issues, some of which have been called flip flopping. But I think as the reality of an Obama presidency draws near a clearer view of the problems and the solutions requires some adjustments. That said, I want Obama to stand stedfast against the things we have discussed and determined outrageous. His wave of support is based on our perception that he can create change. And change we must.
