1.I wrote : ... “Yet despite all his efforts he was ridiculed - mocked even. By you. The American people.” -That’s a hack of a difference between die Hard Gore fans, as you are, and “the public – the American people.” Learn to read between the lines! And I am persisting – the broad audience mocked him and was laughing at him. He wasn’t mocked by losers only, sadly enough...
2.You wrote: “Said nothing - You apparently weren't listening.” -Yes, I wasn’t listening not at that time. That’s because I didn’t had any voting privileges. Nor was I a citizen of the United States. ( I still not set foot on your soil.) When its daytime for you its almost evening for me. But six years later I was compelled to make an assessment and then I understood. The full magnitude of the biggest scandal in modern history. And here again I am persisting. YOU, the American people said sadly “nothing”. Don’t believe? Check out for instance : “ Poll: Majority of Americans accept Bush as legitimate president” at : http://archives.cnn.com/2000/ALLPOLITICS/stories/12/13/cnn.poll/index.ht...
And there are many more “good” examples of the same flatness. It’s easy to find. Regrettably..
3.You wrote: “Thrilled and "let gladly" - Are you insane?!” -The GOP:s 2000 election web site honoring the newly selected “president-elect” was over flooded December 13 by congratulating citizens. Of the 3,993,211 signatures I red ( I couldn’t take anymore) the words “Thrilled, and “Glad” was repeated over and over again. Many of your own countryman felt gladness and joy. That’s history now. But my files points at the same direction: An overwhelming ease over an end to the Clinton-era. Never mind the cheating.
4 You wrote : “Do NOT question OUR commitment to Gore as I now question yours.”- I didn’t do that. Can’t you even understand your own native language?
But what’s maddened me was the sense of resignation some of you were putting up in the comments. “..it looks like Hillary Clinton will be the next 2008 Democratic Presidential Nomination.” “..At the moment his country needs him most, he's going to sit this one out, and hang out at Cannes, and London..” And so on and so fort. For the record I support an Al Gore presidency in a heartbeat. That’s because I understand what’s in the balance – and because a Hillary Clinton presidency scares the living daylight of me. So I try to transcend trough language barrier and space just to jolt your effort. Don’t give up! Hang in there! So ponder instead of what more can be done. And why Al Gore isn’t responding. For instance can a march be organized, silently with candles in Tennessee? Was it committed enough for you?! Don’t shoot the mail man with an inconvenient trough.
Yours truly, Benjamin
You all havn't been watching
You all havn't been watching intrade very much. Just a little while ago gore was running at
a %5 chance of winning the democratic nomination. He topped %10 sell today. He is only running 6-8 points behind obama. (Always follow the money) Another thing that is interesting is almost as many trades have been with gore as clinton!
One thing you all might consider is getting an account with intrade agreeing on a certain date to flood the market for gore to get him ahead of obama. This in itself would make national news. around $30,000 (maybe much less if timed well) agregate would probably do just that. hey if he wins you make at worst 6 times your money back. :) \
Assuming the market of 9% right now is correct a 30,000 investment that moved the market to %16 would at cost around -13,000 in expected value. I say $13,000 to make national news would be worth it. obama would probably drop quickly in response to a gore uptick so the cost might be much less. We might even create a bit of a momentary panic. we would be dumb money, but speculators on intrade would think its smart money.
(smart money usualy comes in a rush.)
note: I would in no way profit from this and 30,000 is a guesstimate.
p.s. You all know rupert murdock(sp) gave hillary a fund raiser this year? I don't want bush light!
A nation of narcissistic cry babies
The whole country hasn't gotten over the 2000 election, let alone Al Gore. The country is in a mess and that's why Al Gore should step up and run, he will be our next president. We live in a nation of narcissistic cry babies, corruption and war. Al can rise above it all and lead us in the right direction.
Was it really any chance that he would run? Honestly..?
In that infamous 2000 election Al Gore won 50,999,897 votes for the Presidency, more than any Democrat in history, more than any candidate in history except Ronald Reagan in 1984. Yet despite all his efforts he was ridiculed - mocked even. By you. The American people. “Sore Loserman”
Ring a bell?
No one stood up in his corner. No one fought for him. “Al, you should concede
and confess your defeat..” – said his pears. His longtime old buddies, and you the American public said nothing. You were “thrilled” and let gladly an illegitimate contender become the 43rd president of the United States. “So he could restore the pried in the White House!” And restore he did, huh !?
Al was sent to exile and was considered a no good two-bit looser and a laughing stock. Think for a moment. How would you feel in the aftermath of such a crushing “defeat” ? Is it so hard to understand the mans emotional reluctance?
But surprisingly the story doesn’t ends here. Because Al came back. By his own. Inch by inch he chipped away his demons and now everybody can see what a formidable guy he is. So the question good folks is not anymore if Al Gore deserves the Presidency.
The real issue is in what way America deserves Al Gore.
Are you dedicated enough to fight for him?
Are you willing enough to demonstrate as a nation that you want Al Gore as
your 44th president? No matter what. Show him. And let the world know.
Yours truly, : Benjamin
YOU think for a moment:
Mocked by us - Never!
Mocked by the real losers - He still is.
Said nothing - You apparently weren't listening.
In his corner - Always have been; Always will be!
Thrilled and "let gladly" - Are you insane?!
Dedicated enough to fight for him? - Some might even say 'to the death' this time. You?
Just as Gore's resolve has been strengthened over the last 7 years, so has ours!
Do NOT question OUR commitment to Gore as I now question yours.
We really should be watching Hillary
We all need to do a reality check here and come to our senses about the 2008 Democratic Presidential Nomination. From all indications, even though I am not totally behind that choice, but it looks like Hillary Clinton will be the next 2008 Democratic Presidential Nomination. It is taking me a very long time to swallow that, but if we want to get behind a candidate as Democrats to win the White House, we have to get behind the one that may be able to pull it off, and that appears to be Hillary Clinton. Our concentration now should be to get Al Gore to back Hillary Clinton for the run to the Presidency. Thanks.
Al ain't running
Y'all, we have to come to grips with the cold hard reality. Al Gore is NOT going to run. As perfect as the time is for him, he just doesn't want it. If he were going to run, he would have given SOME indication that he was going to run. It is now Oct. 1. The Iowa caucuses are 13 weeks away. All of the other states are moving their primary dates ahead. There is no organization in place to get him elected, despite that he leads in polls in New Hampshire and Michigan. It's all out there for him, but he's going to pass.
I have hoped against hope, and hoped some more, but it ain't happening. I don't know about y'all, but I feel he is letting his country down. I'm mad. And it is telling me a little about just how well suited he is to be President. At the moment his country needs him most, he's going to sit this one out, and hang out at Cannes, and London, doing benefits that "spur conversation and awareness" but wields no power to effect actual change. He's acknowledged that the U.S. Presidency is the single office in the world that can best effect progress on GW, but yet, he's going to find "other ways" to contribute. He's "fallen out of love with politics." Really? Well, I am sure alot of soldiers "fell out of love" with war in 1941, but their country called. Many of whom died, even though they "weren't particularly good" at war. All Mr. Gore is being asked to do is hold an office that could literally save this country -- and he wouldn't have to die.
His feelings are still hurt over 2000, and he's lost faith in the system. That much is clear from the Vanity Fair article. I guess a person in his situation just has to suck it up and effect cange from the inside, or get the hell out of the way and let others do the heavy lifting. I guess we know which way he's going.
Hilary Clinton. Blech!!!!
I consider my chances academic.
Gore is my first choice. It's really that simple.
If I've front-loaded my 2008 effort and contributions in percieved vain, so be it.
Gore 08
Don't Count Your Chickens Yet
I hear what you are saying Rosemond but it is still quite possible that Al Gore will announce he is running soon. If he was certain he was not running I'm quite sure we would have heard from General Sherman and we would be advised to shut down our efforts to persuade him to run. That's what happened well before the 2004 elections. No such word has come down.
Al has one of the toughest decisions of his life to make in the next couple weeks. Many of his supporters have felt all along that if he was going to run he would not announce until October.
No giving up now my friends
Keep Pushing Forward!
Don't jump yet!
No, No, and NO! None of us need to jump ship at this point. Now is the time to band together tighter, not to jump into some other ship! Don't bail out prematurely! And don't be swayed by Repugs using the "power of suggestion". She's not a lock, they just wish that.
On the contrary, with huge (and loud) support coming from people like Randi Rhodes, the Gore movement is exploding, not faltering!
In the game of Tug 'o War, you don't let go when you near the mud - you PULL HARDER!!
I'll quit pulling only when I'm face down in it !!
Huh?
We all have off moments..wanbligi I know you have been a Gore supporter for some time. Now is the time for us all to pull together for Al Gore to run for and win the Nomination and the Presidency in 2008.
Out to lunch
Get the heck out of here! I'd support Obama or Edwards any day over Hillary. Do we live in a Monarchy where only one or two families can lead us? Don't you think the Republicans are ready and waiting for that too? She won't win. AL Gore can still jump in and shake up our rotten democracy.
You need a "reality check."
check please.
