Al Gore should endorse Barack Obama
I was browsing through the blog and notice that a comment was made regarding the current Democratic process. It concerns me that anybody would say that if their candidate does not win the nomination they would vote for McCain. Why would anybody support current policies of the Republican party. I am a Republican and I am voting for Obama. If by some miricle that Hillary wins the nomination, I will still support her candidicy for president. I will support the Democratic Party. To hear Hillary supporters or Obama supporters to say they would go to the other side is stupid! If we are going to win in 2008 we need to stick together behind one candidate whoever wins the nomination. A vote McCain would be like taking a gun and holding to my head and pulling the trigger.

Former Fannie Mae CEO to help find OBAMA's VP
A veteran Democratic activist told CNN that former Fannie Mae CEO Jim Johnson has accepted Obama's request to begin a screening and selection process for the No. 2 spot.
HRC supporters will come around
I just posted my own blog entry on the whiny foot-stomping children who say they'll vote for McCain if HRC loses. (Check it out and comment if you care to.) Then I read your blog. I agree with you -- I'll support the Dem nominee, whichever it is. But your title was "Al Gore should endorse Obama" and I was curious to read about that.
I think Gore should endorse Obama, but when? I haven't thought this through really, and I am wondering, did you mean Gore should endorse Obama right away? If so, why? Do you think this would help knock HRC out of the race? I don't think it would make a difference right now.
Yes Gore should endorse Obama, at the point when it will have real impact. Perhaps that time is now, or perhaps it has already passed. Personally I think it will come soon.
Obama
I have to remind you that Obama is a racist. It is like electing the Klu Klux Clan. Why is everyone standing behind him is beyond my thoughts! It would be better to stand behind Hillary. She is not in it for the money as we know by now. She is in it to be part of our history and real change. Do you ever hear Obama talk to people. I would not be supprised if we have another 911 on our hands if he is elected. He is weak and not very experienced.
I will vote for Mcain if I must. At least I know my child will be safe from anyone trying 911 again which we have lived through personally. We relocated to North Carolina so my child would not ever be afraid again. You need to sit and rethink what you are saying or believing because it does not make sense to vote for someone who can't protect us. I do not care about the inflation even though I am poor. I will buy higher priced goods if I must. Just to know we are safe is good enogh for me. I GUESS MUCH OF AMERICA HAS FORGOTTEN ABOUT 911 Hmmmm. WHY IS THAT? All for Hillary or Mcain I say.
Nice quote, now prove it.

This is typical repug flap. They make a false accusation without any proof, then indulge in propaganda & fear mongering.
I really dislike the church that Barack Obama attended for over 20 years, but what Rev. Wrong preached is the result of white institutional racism, & successful conservative strategies to undermine black communities.
Here is one of many examples: There was a time when banks discriminated against qualified black applicants for business & home loans. Most conservatives & many Republicans want to do away with the law the audits banks & their lending practices to minorities.
If it weren't for black American unifying behind radical leaders, we & other minorities wouldn't have accomplished as much as we have in the past 40 years.
I personally believe that black Americans should start practicing the political correct philosophy that many espouses, by rejecting the belief that black Americans can't be racist based on the fact that they don't control any of the major institutions.
It is also fascinating to read how you went from Barack Obama is a racist to Mc Cain will make America safer. McCain is perfectly satisfied with Pakistan harboring Ben Forgotten & many of their leaders. They call Pakistan an ally, in fighting the war against terrorist. Our European allies would not resist us going into their country & capturing or killing the worlds biggest terrorist.
dacdakforgore, I would love for you to respond to my points, as I did with yours, but I am sure you wont.

One More Thing
Tell me why Obama does not think Iran or Pakistan are not a threat? Hmmmm. Lets keep this conversation going. I am an American who voices her thoughts even if you do not agree with me. Everone is entitled to their own opinion. The last time I heard we are American citizens.
LOL...yea
Many white Americans have a problem with the term African American, but I don't see them complaining about China town. Name one Italian or Irish person who isn't proud of their heritage? The issue becomes a problem when the term Afro-American is used. Why are we suppose to ignore our heritage? Act as if we came from nowhere.
Many have a problem with black Americans taking pride in a culture that was bitterly ripped out of our history. Some act as if the white supremacist philosophy that was given to us was God's gift to black people; it wasn't.
Remember, most mothers raise their kids according to the values that were taught to them; the people who taught them their values were loving people, but black Americans were given self-destructive values by people who seen us as no different than their pets... the Willie Lynch type values that were given to us were for their benefit, not ours.
Will you explain to me what is the best way to deprogram the self destructive values, like the large number of black fathers who abandon their kids because they think it is cool the screw every woman they meet, without being perceived as racist? Or do you see the destructive values that were forced upon us by white supremacists to create more baby Africans for them to sell as African values? Please don't act as if black Americans aren't still trying to break the chains in our subconsciouses that came from slavery on into the 1960s.
I believe that no matter what black person ran for president you would come up with a convenient excuse to find a big enough flaw to reject that person. Hillary's plan for Iraq is no different than Barack Obama's.
I also noticed that you shifted from wanting to be safe from terrorist to not wanting to pull out of Iraq so fast. What happened to Osama Been forgotten, & his terrorist network being the biggest threat to our country? You sound as if we (America) has unlimited resources, & you are preparing your kids to fight war after war after war. I am not buying into George Bu$h's & John Mc Cain's Alexander The Great war schemes, you shouldn't either if you value your children. I am sure you value your children, so don't let the Military Industrial Complex have your kids by default.
As a matter of fact, it would be your fault because you brought into the flawed perspectives created by self serving people like Hillary & Mc Cain.

Why did the conversation end???
Fascinating conversation that ended with no agreement or agreement to disagree.

Why of course I will rebuttle! I think we should have an African American President. Just not this one. You really have not proven the racist point either. all I know if I went to a racist church like that I would probally have some racist views myself. Unfortunaty I do not go to chuch wich helps me keep an opened mind. Yes I do believe in a higher power but I do not want anyone to poisen my life. God gave me the right to make decisions for myself. I am sorry that you can't say the same. I just want you to know that having an unspoiled open mind helps you make a much more rational decisions. There are better more experienced African American choices that we could make for President.
Obama says he will make changes but never goes into depth about the changes he will make or how he will make them. I do strongly believe that every country has the right to be free like us if they choose and if Obama pulls those troops out prematuraly we will have a much bigger problem for our country. I believe Hillary and Mcain are the best choices. Well I guess we could impeach if the American people want. Another thing I believe there are no African American, Spanish Americans and so on., "WE ARE ALL JUST AMERICAN AND IT IS RACIST TO JUST SAY AFRICAN AMERICAN> YOU ARE JUST AMERICAN OR NOT." You can't put a color to anyones face. As far as I see it, "We are all the same people." Rebut anytime if you like. Tell me how Obama will make change?
Of Course
Of course Obama "never goes into depth about the changes he will make or how." No candidate ever really goes into depth about this stuff, certainly not in a primary. But it is funny how folks only make this charge against the candidate they oppose. Take a look at your own fave, there. No, a real, objective look, please.
HRC (perhaps should be HPC, with the P for Pandering) actually talks with less clarity and reality than Obama on withdrawing from Iraq. But in your mind only "Obama pulls those troops out prematurely." In reality, if you take all candidates at their word, HRC pulls out the troops the fastest, and McCain NEVER pulls them. So how are BOTH of those the "best choices"?
And you think we should have an African American President, just not this one? I don't believe you mean that at all. But I'm curious, what "better more experienced African American choices" do we have out there?
Earning $109 million dollars since they left office
and you say the Clintons are not in it for the money. Yeah right! Hillary and Bill have too much excess negative baggage to be allowed another chance in the White House. Remember the Clintons were in the Presidency from 1992 to 2000 and that should be enough. No this time around the Americans have it right for a change and Barack Obama will be the next President of the United States.

Yesterday, Obama secured the support of 4 superdelegates (Reps. Henry Waxman, Jim McDermott and Howard Berman and Larry Cohen (CWA DNC)), 1 pledged delegate in North Carolina (because of updated vote tallies in the state) and 7 pledged delegates that had previously supported John Edwards. That means that the number for Obama to secure a majority of pledged delegates has gone down from 25 to 17. And the number Obama needs to secure the nomination is 121.5.
The Math
Total Pledged Delegates: 3,253
Pledged Delegates needed for a majority of pledged delegates: 1,627
Total delegates needed for nomination: 2,025
Edwards Pledged Delegates who are now Obama Delegates:7
Obama Pledged Delegates:1,603
Obama Super Delegates: 293.5
Obama Total Delegates:1,903.5
Delegates Obama needs for a majority of pledged delegates: 17
Obama need to secure the Democratic nomination: 121.5
Please make some calls and make a donation today and continue the momentum. We're getting close, but we need everyone to continue to be involved if we want to make this thing happen.
UPDATE: Rep Pete Stark just endorsed, making the number of delegates Obama needs to secure the nomination 120.5.
