Carnies, Cronies, & Animal Farm
Watching Joe Lieberman playing like he is a Democrat on the GOP stage was insulting. His speech was like watching the movie “The Animal Farm.”
He was trying to sell the idea that Americans should choose country over Party when Repubs are the people who refuse to chose country over Party by blindly supporting Bu$h & Cheney.
Lieberman tried to sell the idea that he is a Democrat & not a registered Independent: If he would have switched his party registration from (I) to (D) when he won his senate seat, I would be trying to respect his phony maverick speech.
I know there are plenty of Republicans who are disgusted with the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey skits in the State of Minnesota. All Obama has to do is cleverly stand up to the leaders of the Animal Farm.
Job 34: 16-19
16 “But if you have understanding, hear this;
Listen to the sound of my words.
17 “Shall one who hates justice rule?
And will you condemn the righteous mighty One,
18 Who says to a king, ‘Worthless one,’
To nobles, ‘Wicked ones’;
19 Who shows no partiality to princes
Nor regards the rich above the poor,
For they all are the work of His hands?
All the other animals on the animal farm despised Napoleon, the leader of the pigs. They were also afraid to stand up to him & his supporters.
It wasn’t until the hard working, loyal horse was fed up with the pigs before the rest of the animals stood with him to reject Napoleon & his minions.
All Obama has to do is challenge McCain & his Conservative cronies lame attempts to sell their country not Party skit by asking Republicans to join his push for real change & the disgruntle repubs / conservatives will support him, just like the rest of the animals on the animal farm.
You win over Repubs, Moderated & Independents who disagree with the GOP carnies by speaking their language. You lose them by ignoring them.

No Surprise
...since this is also the GOP's preferred method of political campaigning as well.
But... McCain is for change.
"On the third Sunday after Snowballs expulsion, The animals were somewhat surprised to hear Napoleon announce that the windmill was to be built after all. He did not give any reason for having changed his mind, but merely warned the animals this extra task would mean very hard work; it might even be necessary to reduce their rations.
...
"That evening Squealer explained privately to the other animals that Napoleon had never in reality been opposed to the windmill. On the contrary, it was he who had advocated it in the beginning, and the plan which Snowball had drawn on the floor of the incubator shed had actually been stolen from among Napoleon's papers. The windmill was, in fact, Napoleon's own creation. Why, then, asked somebody, had he spoken so strongly against it? Here Squealer looked very sly. That, he said, was Comrade Napoleon's cunning. He had seemed to oppose the windmill, simply as a manoeuvre to get rid of Snowball, who was a dangerous character and a bad influence. Now that Snowball was out of the way, the plan could go forward without his interference. This, said Squealer, was something called tactics. He repeated a number of times, 'Tactics, comrades, tactics!' skipping around and whisking his tail with a merry laugh..."

Nothing spells change for the "Me first" mentality of Washington more than an ill-tempered "Maverick," who "marches to the beat of (his) own drum" with the powers of an Emperor, a supplicant media, politicized DOJ, and a right wing Supreme Court.
"Tactics, comrades, tactics!"
Chump change we can (not) believe in
McSame and Pa(l)in will most definitely bring change to Washington if they are elected. They will move the country more to the right, privatize more of the public commons, give more no-bid contracts to the war profiteers -- and create more "opportunities" (read wars and disasters) for those profiteers, and they'll further blur the lines of separation of Church and State.
We've seen this movie before --just like the "uniter" and "compassionate conservative" who has turned out to be neither-- McSame and Pa(l)in will not prove to be mavericks, reformers or bipartisan. Will America be fooled again?
Don't mean to go off topic GOPstopper...
But when you mention "Wars and Disasters," is that a book or website? Love to have a link or an author for that.
:)
sorry
I meant that the word "opportunities" should be read as "wars and disasters"... as McSame has said, "I'm sorry to tell you, there will be other wars."
I guess if there is a book I could have been referring to, it would have been "The Shock Doctrine" by Naomi Klein.
My bad
It makes perfect sense. I should have seen that, and it is absolutely right.
Thank you for the clarification.
Double toil and double trouble
"Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
...
By the pricking of my thumbs,
Something wicked this way comes."
That's the change Mac and his crone brings.
LIEberman's heart not in it
LIEberman had to be wondering why he still had to give that speech after failing to become McCain's VP choice. And to have to spit out the "country over party" rhetoric after McCain clearly put party politics over Country by choosing Palin.
Even Peggy Noonan thinks "it's over" for the GOP... see: http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/212920.php
But maybe the Repugs have a trick up their sleeve?
